Re: Weather!

It's cold and gray and depressing. November came early. And the heat in the building hasn't been turned on yet.

That's Swiss HVAC tech for you. Always dependable!

You need one of these then:

Re: Weather!

Much warmer today, no 'bise' and very bright and sunny. Gardening day and making a warmer den in the shed for our new adoptee- a Siamese cross with a torn off paw. It's taken me 2 months of patience, feeding watering and providing shelter- to get him to take food from my hand yesterday and being able to stroke his head- to him jumping on my lap and purring his little head off this morning- in the strong sunshine on the kitchen step.

Hopefully will be tame enough by winter so he can come in the house and be warm- and I can finally take him to the vet so he can assess his paw and whether it would be best to amputate neatly. Little Minou is such a cutie.

Not really by the lake...78% humidity

P
It certainly was here, no idea what the humidity level is but we're not near the lake and it dried my washing beautifully outside every day last week.
Nothing beats the smell of clean laundry dried outside.

Re: Weather!

Ah well off to jacuzzi - has to be done the sun will soon be on back of house where it is- under car-port.

wonder if the red kites will come and gawp again today.

(it's only a cheap blow-up jacuzzi- but it's been a real boon with my knee...
and the horses are borrowed (eg graze in our field) - but next year I don't care what the £ does - as I've cancelled our long-haul trip and the new kitchen - I'm having the real thing right by my kitchen door).

Re: Weather!

Well that was a surprise. We'd just come in from a long walk out in the beautiful sunshine when the sky clouded over.
Shortly afterwards there was an amazing hailstorm with thunder and lightning abd the garden looked like it was the middle of winter.

Re: Weather!

We had nice sunshine a couple of hours ago, but now it's raining. Nothing in the forecast to say it might.

Odile - pictures! The cat, not you in the jacuzzi. Well, on second thought maybe pics of both.

I know! They haven't finished clearing up yet! There were accidents in both directions.
Not sure why the took them to every hospital in the region except for Neuchâtel unless it was full!

Hail was enough to surprise Swiss drivers - one can only imagine what will the snow do

Maybe they all had telmed insurance and the lady from Hungary told them not to go to NE hospital if they want to be reimbursed? :P

Maybe they all had the Hausartz insurance option and they would not authorise Neuchâtel ?

All of them?

The accident was in Neuchâtel and only 10 minute from the hospital so unless the drivers were all from Vaud and Bern it doesn't make sense.

And as it was an accident the insurance model makes no difference anyway.

You have to have seen it to believe it. It came out if nowhere and there was a thick layer of ice really quickly. I don't think anyone was expecting it and on summer tyres it inevitably led to mayhem.
People are prepared for snow here albeit not at the start of October.

Re: Weather!

It's snowing here at ca 750m on the Dark Side.

Well, I suppose slushing would be a more accurate description.

Nonetheless, 11 October is just a tad early.

Good thing the new Qashqai is being delivered on Friday with winter tyres on then.

Re: Weather!

Medea - pictures on my FB, but forgotten how do import here! Doh ...

Freezing tonight and that bise again. Just fed Minou inside as I did this morning and he allowed me to have massive cuddle - and now left him on his own in the kitchen with a small bowl of croquettes so he nose around without feeling intimidated- with door ajar so he doesn't feel trapped. Bought him a bed with hood this afternoon and put it in the shed- but I so wish he would stay inside. Hopefully he will be the time snow comes.
Much warmer next few days, pheew.

I do not have a phone that takes pictures (and yes, I am a dinosaur)...

Re: Weather!

Well, I use Paint to make the pic and then Go Advanced in a post to get the Attachment icon (paperclip next to the smily white face) and then browse for the file and upload. That's about as technical as I get.
