Yes, blue skies here too, a frosty start, everything looks bright and clean, beautiful!

Sun sun suuuuun! But was driving in a total fog this morning which started few km out of the city... Lausanne is a better place to live than Neuchatel if it goes about the weather :P
How do you work that out?

It's been brilliant sunshine here since first thing and it was sunny in Lausanne so it's the bits between the two that get the rough weather.
It's very often foggy on the stretch between Yverdon and Lausanne.

I didn't mean the city only Generally, areas around Lake Neuchatel receive less sun that those around Lake Leman.

Re: Weather!

Which is the best, most accurate local weather website please? I checked several yesterday and they gave overnight temperatures varying from 2 degrees to -7 degrees at 04:00.

I find meteocentrale.ch to be the most reliable for our part of the world.

I use www.meteoblue.ch - they use an ensemble of several models. Mind the PREDICTABILITY index

ps. Gloom and doom v2.0 :/

Re: Weather!

Yet another gloomy, misty day today. Same as yesterday and the day before. Hope it's not like this at Christmas, I think it makes it very unfestive. Temps due to rise later in the week so hope we get some sunshine with it.

Re: Weather!

Neighbours came to fetch us from Yverdon station last night and we drove up through thick fog... which cleared as soon as we got up a bit higher. Very clear skies up here in t'mountains at 950m last night, and woke up to brilliant sunshine and bright blue sky- what a lovely welcome.

I see in the Express that this has been the case for a few days and will continue for a while - fog by the lake and bright sunshine up here- with the ususal linked temperature inversion, up here being significantly warmer above the fog. Hurrah and thanks for the welcome. We had 26 to 32 degrees every day inb Cape Town and area for last 3 weeks.

Re: Weather!

It has been foggy for three days here and will probably be the same today but it's due to change tomorrow.

We don't get anywhere near as much fog as you would have everyone believe.

Re: Weather!

Foggy here too. It's been foggy all day at the tree frost line, not as bad today as yesterday, and yesterday was better than Tuesday.

SADS lamp is getting a workout.

Re: Weather!

Shh ... don't tell anyone, but the sun's almost out. Still misty, but it's retreating somewhat and I can actually see across the road! Haven't been able to do that for the last couple of days.

Re: Weather!

Another brilliant sunshine day up in t'Neuch Jura after frost overnight

BTW it is warmer in La Brévine, or little Siberia, than in Neuchâtel again. But the lake is frozen and ready for skating this week-end - magical.

They do rent skates, and there is vin chaud and hot chestnuts and sausages, etc, for sale. You can also walk on lake and pull the kids on toboggans.

My dad used to drive the car on and attach our toboggans at the back with long ropes, drive like the clappers and do hand-break turns ... wahoo. For some strange reason this is no longer allowed lol. But some people still use windsurf sails, etc.
