Re: Weather!

If you are on your way to Geneva, you might as well get used to it. We had about 1/2 an hour of sun yesterday but otherwise it has been solid fog for weeks & by the looks of it isn't going to change any time soon.

Re: Weather!

Lovely day here, no mist at all. Bit misty over around Granges-Paccot.

You're clearly in the wrong place, it's beautiful here.

It was very misty over towards Ins and Murten just now though.

Today we have sunshine...glooooriiouus sunshine here, where as it was a tad foggy at daughters workplace this morning I am so so so looking forward to the afternoon walk with Lizzie, we'll be going on purpose not through the forest bud over open fields etc to soak up as much as we can of those lovely rays of light and warmth!

It's often the case that if it's foggy down there it's beautiful here and vice versa.

Re: Weather!

Strange phenomenon yesterday in the GE countryside. Fog and a hoar frost on Saturday night had coated the trees in white. When the sun finally managed to breakthrough in the afternoon the frost started melting, so although the sky above was clear and the roads and pavements were dry, it appeared to be raining - but only under the trees. Took me a while to work out what was happening.

Re: Weather!

So surprised you have not come across this lovely phenomenon before - it is very common up here in the Jura mountains. Love it.

Re: Weather!

I suppose I must have done - but yesterday it really struck me. I came out of my front door and it really sounded like it was raining quite hard, but I wasn't getting wet. I had one of those odd disorientated moments when you're not sure what's going on.

Re: Weather!

Another gorgeous crisp, warm (for the season, 9C) - the Mer de Brouillard was amazing again, covering the whole of the plain bar a few bits of the higher parts of Vaud and Fribourg plains sticking out. Same foe the week-end it seems- much warmer above than below. Dreading having to go to Geneva on business tomorrow

Jakub- NOW or NOT ?

Skating will be fab though - sadly my skating days are gone wahwahwah - I used to be such a good skater, speed, figure and hockey - always had 3 pairs of skates on the go ..

Re: Weather!

Dull, gloomy and foggy all day again. Gritter lorry has just gone by spreading grit so expecting freezing temps tonight it seems.

Curse you Mer de Brouillard! Most people have to live and work under it! :/

Re: Weather!

Another fantastic day up at Les Rasses - mountains out, blue skies and sunshine.

Not so good for those waiting for the snow to come - article in 24heures today about how much it can cost our local community who depend on the skiing season to balance the books....
