Re: Weather!

Lac des Taillères is indeed fabulous! We enjoyed skating in the sun. Amazed that the lake can freeze over when it feels so warm.

Re: Weather!

Fog's gone at last and it's trying to SNOW! May have a white Christmas after all. What am I saying! Snow's fine so long as I don't have to go out in it. So no snow on the ground on Friday please and none on Tuesday next week. Otherwise fine by me.

Re: Weather!

So glad you enjoyed it Carlasmom- I hope to ski this winter, but my new knee wouldn't enjoy skating sadly.

When we were kids, my dad would drive over Lac des T, attach our sledges on long ropes- drive like the clappers and do hand-break turns- massive fun. For some strange reason it is not allowed any more

Weather definitely changing, the 'bise' (east wind) is up and although bright there is some cloud and I saw a few tiny slow flakes wizz by my bedroom window this morning. Friends coming over from London with kids are desperate to play in the snow- so fingers crossed.

Re: Weather!

We did get a dusting on the ground, but melting off now. Still encouraging for those of you who like the white stuff.

Re: Weather!

Having just been gloomy and dull the last couple of days with no fog, we're now back to gloomy, dull and foggy again.

Re: Weather!

Ah well, the weather didn't change. Another superb sunny bright day up here- and so was yesterday. Dreading having to go down to the plain today.

They are also skating on the River Doubs near Villers-le-Lac on the FRench side from Le Locle.

Re: Weather!

Left the sun with 8C at 12.00- down into thick thick fog for about 15km and then below it in Neuch, 2C but so damp that it felt like UK cold and-10.

Got back up through thick fog and then sun setting and so so bright- bliss.

Re: Weather!

Dejavu'ish winter from last year. Where is snow? Did it decide to go up the hill again?

FTFY.

It was pretty grey and miserable yesterday but I was in town in the afternoon and it felt nothing like -10° to me and I feel the cold very easily. It didn't even feel like it was below zero to me.

In the eyes of the beholder- or the bones. Just depends what you are used to

Just walking from the car-park to the hospital froze me to the core.

Normally a view of the Salève but that fog is still taunting us.

Re: Weather!

It looked this morning as though the weather had actually changed- grey and even a bit of drizzle overnight. But it all cleared up quickly and it is nice, bright and sunny- with a few little clouds here and there.

Re: Weather!

Hope it stays sunny up there. We plan to go up to La Brévine again on Monday. I want to show my visiting family the beautiful lake.

Might pop up and say hello with our 'borrowed' dogs- visitors arriving on Tuesday. Gorgeous now- soon for for second walk with doggies.

Re: Weather!

Started off gloomy and foggy here. Went to Matran to do the last bit of Christmas food shopping and lovely sunshine there. Came back and we could see we were heading back into the fog again, but it did eventually clear off and give us some sunshine.

I went to Avenches this morning and it was gorgeous sunshine there. It took a bit longer to break through here but we eventually had some sun too and it's been a beautiful afternoon.
