Re: Weather!

LOL I wonder why- La Chaux-de-Fonds is a very multicultural city ... (I don't live there btw).

Had a knee repalcement recently- but I am really looking forward to try my skis, both x-country and downhill... waiting for a sunny day with soft fluffy snow. Because the ground has been so frozen for quite a long time- only a small amount of snow will be sufficient.

Re: Weather!

Snowing here too, a bit earlier than forecast. Nowhere near 10cm yet (thank goodness! ) , but ground is now white again and our little road is also disappearing under the snowflakes. Main road is clear so far, but I wouldn't be surprised to find it needs clearing come morning if the snow continues all night.

Re: Weather!

Trying to here as well. Not very heavy though, more gentle flakes falling slowly.

Re: Weather!

Just about 25cm overnight- very fluffy powder. A winter wonderland now the sun has come out- just about to go and see if our borrowed dogs love snow or not.

You must live in Le Locle

Everytime I ask why are they look at me like that they say: It's La Chaux-de-Fonds... Whatever...

Re: Weather!

LOL no I don't- nowhere near . Could you re-phrase your sentence, because I just don't get it ...

It is snowing like absolute crazy now - just finished clearing the snow from back drive/car park and patio- will start all over again soon. Love it ...

Xcountry ski season will start in earnest this week-end and our 3 local ski resorts will hopefully open very soon. Do you ski Jakub?

I don't know why. La Chaux-de Fonds has a lot going for it and is fine as long as you don't mind snow.
Rents are cheaper, it's a short hop over the border for shopping and it has all the major stores you'd expect to find in Switzerland.

Snow tomorrow.
Snow tonight by the looks of it. It started again just after 5pm and it's happily covering up the main road and everything else at the moment. Had a couple of tries this morning, but didn't get anywhere then tried again about 2pm and put a thin layer of snow down. Main road cleared, but is getting covered again.

Re: Weather!

What a day! After a little more snow bright sunshine and everything covered. Also the streets off the big roads. Not decided yet wether to take the cyclists up on their deathwish or keep them alive for the summer-redlight-games.

Re: Weather!

A winterwonderland - everything is twinkling, powder snow, hoarfrost and sunshine.

Minus 29.9C at La Brévine last night, still far short of their record of minus 41.8C - and a balmy minus 14.5C here.

Re: Weather!

Hardly a sprinkle of snow here in Geneva, but the mountains around at last getting a slightly white powdery look. Not enough for skiing, unfortunately. Mind you, with the balls freezing wind "La Bise" blowing hard today, I would not be on the slopes even with 1 meter of snow!

Re: Weather!

No bise up here but it is cold - but it is such a dry cold- with plenty of layers and a good scarf around neck and face (we have those fleece covers with velcro and nose piece to breathe ) - fabulous.

Métabief will be part opened this week-end, and possibly Les Rousses- and most xcountry areas are opening as we speak. Our local runs have been pisted and are ready for skating and classical x-country skiing.

Tonight - skating and disco at Lac des Taillères.

(now for a little kiddies joke based on language for you on Lake Geneva- as kids we loved to say 'la bise au Lac Léman' - which sounded like something totally different- our friend Clément never found it funny ).

Re: Weather!

Beautiful here. A light dusting of snow, just enough to look beautiful but not enough to be annoying, and beautiful clear blue sky and sunshine.
It's about -5 or -6° and just perfect for a long walk over the fields.

Re: Weather!

So who else is shoveling a 'piddle path' for vertically challenged mutts?

25 cm here; the ancient Belltie is not amused.

(Heffalump and Hooligan are, however, very much so. Oh the joy of rolling in fresh fallen snow!)
