Re: Weather!

Flung the windows open first thing this morning to cool the place down then shut everything up again and pulled the curtains to try and keep the house relatively cool (25.8C at the moment) - relative being the operative word. I can never decide if I'm better to do it like that or just fling the windows open and have air coming in, even if it is hot.

Re: Weather!

Currently 27° in the shade on my little balcony. I keep all the doors/windows open and the thinnish curtains closed. I like to feel connected to the outside.

Re: Weather!

I've got Vitiligo, so I try to avoid going out when the sun is at it's highest. Instead, I spend the entire day juggling the heat, by either shutting all the blinds and 'preserving' the cool, or opening all doors and windows and trying to entice a breeze or two.

Unfortunately, I've got the juggling all wrong today. So I'm sitting at my desk, with my feet in a bucket of cold water.

Re: Weather!

34°C in the shade .... and guess where I am, loving every minute of it. It can be over any day so might as well make the most of it.

Sorry, Pickled, that must be tough. As I said, it can be over any day

Re: Weather!

Same for us EastEnders. Our living gets the sun from early morning right through to sunset and it's murder during the summer unless everything's closed up. Have 26C+ at the moment and that's with having windows/curtains all closed from around 7.30am, but thankfully it's started RAINING and so I'm able to open windows and let some of the heat out.

RAINING
Oh you evil tease. It's so dry here, everything's gone floppy, even things that usually stand up.

Re: Weather!

Has stopped now, but we got a good steady rain for a while. Downside is I need to mow the grass and now it's too wet.

Extraordinary at the moment; I do not remember ever having to turn on our air conditioner in May before

That's got 'First World Problem' written all over it. Says me, still with my feet in a bucket of water.

I think most of the rain stayed with you, we got a tremendous noisy thundering and lightning, which turned Lizzie into a trembling wreck...... but rain, well a few droplets, but not as much as needed.

I am used to the heat indoors here and gladly take it in my stride, love my slanted, wooden beam ceiling too much

Re: Weather!

We were the other way: some rain, no lightning and only a few little grumbles a bit later.

Meanwhile in southeast England and northern France ...

Re: Weather!

Who cares about the temp outside anyway ... Aircon is on while being surrounded by books. Shutters put all the way down. It truly makes me feel just like during the winters days!

Heat problem solved!

What do you mean! 25C is great! Raining here again now. Farmer's cows won't be very happy - it's their first overnighter outdoors this year.

Gosh! The Scots are going to have to dust off that forgotten bottle of sunscreen lurking at the back of the cupboard!
