I had to use my sister's three weeks ago in Edinburgh!!

Re: Weather!

A few grumbles and rumbles here, but no rain at the moment. Making it a little cooler thank goodness.

Same here- but we did have heavy rain for a short while.

Off to Geneva botanical gardens tomorrow- hope weather won't be too bad.

I am so much happier with the recent change in the weather

Now if the weather forecast would stop teasing me with promises of rain and thunderstorms....

Re: Weather!

We didn't get teased in the end, we got big bang thunder, lightning and heavy downpours for most of the evening and into the night. Rain came down so hard at one point that it screwed up the internet connection - trying to access any website gave me the message that the security certificate for that site may have been compromised and wouldn't let me continue to the site. Gave up and turned the PC off for the night - that was around 9.10pm iirc.

We got all that between 10pm and midnight. The thunder was so loud at one point I'm sure it made the house shake and the lightening was very bright.
Hubby somehow managed to sleep through it all.

Re: Weather!

Very very loud thunderstorm eventually hit Basel around 1-2am. Before that we had lots of thunder and lightening but virtually no rain, which was disappointing.

I'm off on a 90km bike ride soon to see some joker of a forum member (we stick together!), so am hoping that's the thunderstorms done for today - along my route at least.

Yep, I swear that thunderbolt at 12:53 am was just outside my window

The hard rain just before/after that was great - and stopped in time for me to ride my bicycle to work.

Have a fun and safe trip, Adrian

Re: Weather!

Had a few more grumbles about 45 minutes ago, though no rain yet. It's the poor milch cows I feel sorry for. Their first week out in the field overnight and so far 2 out of 3 nights they've got a drenching. They looked very miserable last night standing under the trees trying to avoid the downpour. Bet the baby bisons down at the bison farm haven't enjoyed it much either.

Re: Weather!

Got to Hallwilersee area yesterday without any rain . A lovely day of sunshine and light cloud. Then there was a thunderstorm here last night and now it's sunny again.

Whoever is planning these storms - thanks for scheduling them overnight. Perfect!

Poor milch cows are getting wet again. It's just started raining here gently and also a few mild grumbles. At least the temperature is down a bit.
