Re: Weather!

Been a bit overcast and breezy here last few days, but just after lunch it got very windy so I had to shut most of the windows. Had a bit of rain, but then turned into a nice pleasant sunny afternoon.

Re: Weather!

We've been so lucky with weeks of hot, sunny, wonderful weather for the last month- which was fabulous as we have had non stop visitors and have been out doing great walks, boat trips on lakes and rivers, etc- with 3 lots of visitors. At least up here in the mountains, it always cools down at night with a little breeze- but we had all meals out on the patio.

Yesterday we drove some friends back to GVA airport via Vallée de Joux and Col du Marchairuz - with several stops, with final stop by Lake Geneva in Coppet. We had just finshed our ice-cream and got back to the car when wind got up and it bucketed it down ...

Today is grey and much colder, with some rain on and off - very welcome, although I could do with some sun to dry tons of sheets and towels ...

Next lot arriving Tuesday, so hope sunshine will come back by then.

Re: Weather!

I'm really enjoying the cool temperatures, the low clouds and the rain. It's a relief from the excessive temperatures we've been having, and it makes the valley look really dramatic.

To quote George Seferis:

"Our country is closed in, all mountains
that day and night have the low sky as their roof. "

Lovely!

I couldn't agree more. Weeks on end of hot weather, blue sky and sunshine do get a bit wearing after a while.

Greyish, coldish - but yes, nice respite from all that sun and heat. Sun will be back for next lot of visitors- great.

I join in the chorus (albeit not a yodelling one!)...loving every bit of rain and every single cloud and misty veil. I hope though that it will get sunnier and brighter for our lad coming over from Edinburgh next week-end, bringing his girlfriend for the first time to us and to Switzerland.

Re: Weather!

Can someone tell me if having a whole day sunny and then right after work a rainstorm, as we had several times over the past few weeks in Zurich is considered normal?

Yep. It is to make those at work regret that they don't have summer break.

Wool blanket and soup makes the weather better, but I left them at home. Uni is cold, grrrr.
