Re: Weather!

Even though I heard of the "flood warning", I was still surprised to see how high and fast the Rhine is running

I love that river

as the sun came out, we decided to go out with camera to some of the sources of rivers around here and the waterfall - but the Canton and local councils have made all rivers banks and the lake out of bounds to public, as it is just too dangerous at the moment. Jakuzzi time instead
It's hardly surprising given the amount of rain that fell over the course of about 36 hours. I've never seen rain like that before and the ground was already pretty waterlogged from the previous rain. Better to be safe than sorry.

Enjoy the jacuzzi.

Re: Weather!

Its hard to tell if you don't know what the river bank usually looks like, but the water is the highest I've seen it since I've lived here.

In this shot, the black pylons are normally at the edge of a walkway. Well, they are still at the edge of a walkway; you just can't see it below the water

The birds also sounded as if they were about to build nests today.

Two days ago a ladybug moved in. It still lives with me, we I ran into each other this afternoon and we had a little chat (It needs to know what I consider luck, right?)

I'm not sure this is good, really. But I seem to remember it was the same last year.

You know, I looked at your post, wondering what you mean. Lumumba is luck?
As the post lacked invitation, address etc. etc. and I would not waste living with a ladybird on a thing I can make myself (which is almost anything, LOL) and I had the cocoa (the real stuff), the rum and the cream, I got up and made one.
No idea if I did it correctly but geee, that stuff is good

The whipped cream unfortunately could not withstand the heat long enough to take a prettier picture:

Re: Weather!

Gloomy, foggy and frosty here today. Cloudy tomorrow, heavy rain on Tuesday, rain/sleet/snow Wednesday, cloudy Thursday and rain/sleet Friday. It's going to be a beautiful week.

Oh, forgot to mention the wind - very windy on Tuesday and Wednesday as well.

Yep, I looked at the week's forecast and decided to do most of my errand-running tomorrow I can't hide from the rest of the week, but I can limit how much I'm out in it!

Re: Weather!

Skiing up in the Jura today.. Absolutely glorious sunshine, jackets open, looking down towards the cloud blanket over Lac Leman..

Drove back down through the cloud to the grey gloom..

Re: Weather!

All this moaning made me check: Snow on Wednesday and all next week-end?
The gardener is gonna come by tomorrow and cut all the trees and bushes (nope, that was not my idea and after being untouched for 2 years .... they just "forgot" about our part of the garden .... these green creatures will be shocked).

Meanwhile an other ladybug moved in with me today. Must have seen the forecast. (Fine with me - what am I gonna do with all that luck this year? )

It's gonna be lovely this summer

It was very mild, almost spring-like here all afternoon but when the sun went it got grimly cold.

Re: Weather!

Wind's blowing a gale outside. Was no wind at all at 5pm. All battened down and won't be opening anything up for the next few days except for the garage doors to let hubby in and out with the car. Not looking forward to that either.
