Normally I love winter, but when it is just cold and grey then I start itching for spring.

Here's a little something to help us all get through this:
That's lovely, thanks

Last week my neighbour planted spring-flowers all over my garden and some even into a pot of mine (she can see my garden from her flat) and I hope they will all soon get their chance to bloom.

There are some really nice people in this world

Re: Weather!

That really is nice, Curley!

We have a (very small) garden area in front of our building, taken care of by the Hauswert. She doesn't do much with it, just pulls out some leaves once in a while. I am thinking of sneaking in some bulbs in among the ivy, pachysandra and other green things... I will be a nice bit of color during the seasons.

In fact, I think I'll do that this spring and plant for some fall colors.

With that awful wind, it's FREEZING out there.
Just wait. Monday - Wednesday next week it's going to get really cold. For the first time this winter.

Gawd, I get chilly if it drops below 20C...

Damn, low of -9 C forecasted for early next week here in Basel (with a high of only -3 C) Looks like winter isn't done with us yet!

Poor storks, they've arrived back far too early this year.

Got my Polar jacket out of the cellar today
Never needed it last year.

That is the wind and water proof knee length jacket with a heavily padded inner liner that extends down the arms and has cuff adjustments to clamp down on your gloves!

Lovely. That's got my day off to a good start curley. Trust cats to always know the best places to get into when it's time for a snooze.

Re: Weather!

WHAT A CHEAT!
So I wake up to the sun kissing me good morning and I think "ha, ain't life lovely and weather forecasts total BS". After a while I wonder why there is so much noise outside and notice itt's windy. Fair enough, just out of curiosity I check the temperature:

-9°C ?!?

Sod that! This is gonna kill me!

Re: Weather!

Forecast never said it wasn't going to be sunny, only cold with it. I've got -5.7 out the front and -6.5 out the back with gorgeous sunshine. No wind.

Yes, and I even didn't need to de-frost my car windows like any normal wintery morning!?

Re: Weather!

Looks like Thursday's going to be the fun one. 3-4 days of sub zero temps then rain. We'll have to get our skates (or chains) on.
