Just worried about draught.

You're not expecting to drink the lake, are you? Or is it the breeze that bothers you?

Very little water, in fact, in the lake. Everything is drier. So little water that we had the municipality ask citizens to be extra careful with using the local supply, a few weeks back. The habitual water line is about a foot above where the water level is now.

I left the Grand Traverse Area in northwestern lower Michigan on Wednesday morning at -8°C with one foot of fresh snow from Monday and Tuesday. In the first half of April we had gotten more snow than in all January. Our place is roughly on the same latitude as Milano in Italy, mind you.

I arrived in Zurich on Thursday morning, where many people were wearing shorts, sandals and tank tops or T-shirts, and around noon there were 22°C. Although, of course, I had previously checked the weather forecast and knew what I was heading to, I simply had no space in my luggage to stow away my thick winter jacket. I felt pretty silly.

However, such temperatures are not unusual. In 2007, the first half of April was so-so, and then the afternoon temps went up to 25 - 30° for a full three weeks in a row, followed by another crappy period.

Last night, my OH called me from Michigan just to tell me that the snow was beginning to melt. I was like, "You don't say...."
Weather in the US has been pretty weird..but it is actually warmer than usually here, we are dealing with strange temps, too. Temp record in the UK a few days ago, for the past 70 years, I read somewhere.

I remember a frw years back when it was freezing still in May, I was cramming in my ice cold kitchen with my down jacket on.

I think that I might wear shorts to work this week.

Tom
Why not, lots of young ladies around in what seems to be the newest fashion craze of very short shorts.

Me, I am in previous years fashion of below the knee shorts.

LOL. The newest? How many times did we go through that fashion craze by now?
At least it's a comfortable one.

My only wish is that it does not rain a drop until November. Make people realise that what they do has consequences!!!!!!

Now that would be the summer of my lifetime!
And who am I to stand between you and your wishes being fulfilled.

So you're not concerned about crop failures, forest fires, food and water shortages....?

I am. But I wouldn't mind if for one time only I would also get something pleasant out of it. So far we got all the bad sides here while sitting in the rain.

Another sweltering day, so hot I'm riding my bike without a jacket since last week.

Re: Weather!

I am fully appreciating and enjoying the weather in Basel the last couple of days: passing clouds, a bit of sunshine, about 21° and a brisk breeze to freshen things up.

THIS is the weather I love

Yeah, getting up here too! Supposed to get gusts of up to 70+km/h tomorrow! No opening window shutters for me if that's the case. Staying locked up nice and snug.

According to the internet it was only 14km/h. That didn't feel very strong but my huge, new, sunshade fell over.
