Re: Weather!

36°C and I'm still fit and happy, thoroughly enjoying it apart from one thing: The air is so dry, breathing is uncomfortable and dries out the mucosae. Also there is this smell, I had several moments thinking "okay, where's the fire?"
So far luckily none.

I know dry heat is more pleasant but a micron more humidity would be perfect.

And to each his own: just today I was noticing how much better it was with the lower humidity

The smell here in Basel, on the other hand, is nothing like something is on fire. More like "someone forgot the flush out the sewers"

Re: Weather!

I have a small fan, battery operated, has a water spray. Perfect for low humidity.
I also have a another small fan, about 10 cm in diameter. I took it to the hospital last week. Kept my brain from overheating.

Lucky for me, I’m mostly icing my knee. It’s the only thing that keeps the temps down.

It's hot, real hot.

Don't forget to leave water out for the animals, be it a saucer or bowl, on balcony or garden, every little helps.

Do your bit!

But the fireworks are all wet!
I was at the official Gemeinde celebration today when the heavens opened; I went home and had to change my wet shirt, trousers and underwear

That's what I call self-confidence.

23°C and 72% humidity here, yaaaaak. I really have to be careful what I wish for as it seems to materialize immediately all the time. So back to 34/30 please.

It was well and truly "runterhudeln" here when I said Marton could light off his fireworks.

Didn't last long, but it was a proper downpour.

Meteonews state 36° for Zurich next Wednesday 8th, and 37° for Basel/ the Northwest.

Surely they're lying? Having a laugh.. The thing is, if they call it in at that temp now, it's usually higher on the day.

I need to rent a large portable fridge and live in it for a week.

How people change within 5 years ... opening message of this thread, by the same member.

Or is it just the British "I will complain, no matter which way you change things".
