All I know is that this sudden transition from +30 down to +10 Celsius has cost me a flu, cold, Erkältung, Schnupfen at once. At least I can stay at home, cure fever and post on the EF all the same
thats because you have no resistance

Under current tension, I try to find capacity and not to choke during self-induced flu. Some resistance to alleviate the current stress would also help me in recharging my batteries. But that’s all in theory that my circuit needs

Funny, la bisè is a north wind along lac Léman
That cold north wind they call la Bise
is swirling up around my knees…

Ah no, La Bise (no accent on the 'e') is definetely the wind from the East- even though it feels like it comes from the North, and does cut you in two.

Gorgeous up on the Jura today - but yes, also got a stinking cold- thanks to not 'la bise' but 'des bises' from a young friend who arrived from New Mexico with a stinker the other day.

As for 'la bise au Lac Léman' - it was a favourite joke when we were kids (sounds like ... few will get it).

How about you split the difference—Wikipedia says it blows from the northeast.

These weather forecasters. Money for nothing!! They coudn't forescast one hour in advance let alone one day or one week! Idiots.
This is confirmed by their weather report for today! Rain! What a joke. From the Weather App- MSN.

It’s also a beautiful day up here. Unfortunately, I’m prevented from making big plans by freaking flu

Re: Weather!

Got a really bad cold - had to sit up in bed last night as I coughed so much (but it is NOT flu, just a bad cold) ... but no way will I let it spoild this lovely day. Having coffee on the patio being serenaded by the Guggen practising at the Youth Hostel up the road - just far enough Will go for a nice walk in the woods this afternoon- no mushrooms though- far far tooo dry.

24C at nearly 1000m.

Water level in the Rhine is too low for container ships to operate.

It's brutal on the animals as well.
My birdbath is very popular, I've also left water out for the hedgehogs.

Re: Weather!

yes, wildlife really needs help - we have put a huge sink full of water in the field at the back for deer, badgers, foxes, etc- and several big dishes of water under trees on the grouns, and refill and clean the bird bath every couple of days.

Gorgeous afternoon at Creux-du-Van, with all the Alps out

Re: Weather!

Cold enough for the central heating to kick in this morning and there was frost on the ground.

Nice sunny day again, after a few misty/foggy ones these last few days but what would really be nice is around 3 days of steady rainfall to help get things back in balance.

Re: Weather!

Gorgeously sunny again - but yes, first frost this year last night. Time to bring my hibiscus in- and soon, to go and pick some sloes.
