Had to read that twice - thought your cat had its own car...

Will be in UK from next week-end, when winter is supposed to arrive there. Thanks goodness we have good 4X4 with best quality winter tyres!

Great! I just remember the UK that I grew up in - wet, grey, drizzly, windy, with occasionally a bit of sun or slush. No seasonal difference. Good to know (or perhaps not good to know) that it's changed!

Re: Weather!

Ahah, Minou could do with one, as he only has 3 legs - bless him.

We have had some great winters in the Midlands in the past - enough to get our xcountry skis out and even downhill on Old John, in wonderful Bradgate Park - home of Lady Jane Grey, Queen for 9 days.

Re: Weather!

Ah- he is such a cutie and so so happy. Really gets on well with his mate Emma, the 13 year old dog we adopted this Summer. Flat out on my bed now.

Woke up to very heavy snow - stopped now, but there is a good covering out there.

...... I need to go to Germany tomorrow, so I want the wind to calm down by then and the rain to stop. A little sunshine would be the pleasant extra.
I just love how this stuff works: The wind had gone, so had the rain, the sky was clouded but the sun made it through anyway (I'm talking sun glasses).

Plenty yesterday.
Today, fresh snow to ski, blue sky and sun, typical Christmas card weather.

Winter. The stick-to-the-road-fun-type.
Who would have thought this would even reach us down here this year.

Re: Weather!

Snowing very heavily now - maybe we will have to take the snowblower out for the first time this season, in the morning.

Re: Weather!

Yeah, we're due to get some snow overnight and through tomorrow. Rain atm, but when the temperature drops expect to see the white stuff.

Re: Weather!

Wet, grey, very cold day. Then all of a sudden, late afternoon, about 20 minutes of blue sky and bright sunshine! It was magical - It changed everything; The atmosphere, the mood, it lifted the gloom ...

It went back to grey as quickly as this had appeared yet the sentiments still linger.

All it takes is a smile ...

Re: Weather!

Wow - with a vengeance. Took all morning to clear the large drive at the back - and we can now start all over again - thank goodness our neighbour was able to come and help with the snowblower, that would not start! With 40 local elderly people coming for lunch tomorrow, we will have to get up early to start clearing!

Sadly will have to cancel visit to my bro in hospital in La Chaux-de-Fonds!

Re: Weather!

sadly, it all got a bit soggy over the week-end. Our local ski slope opened on Saturday, but had to close on Sunday. Métabief-Mt d'Or was almost fully opened- so was Les Rasses in St Croix. It is now snowing VERY heavily- so all fingers crossed.

Can't wait for the first pow sunny day- so I can go and try those new knees- both downhill at Métabief, and xcountry ski locally.

Re: Weather!

Well, blow me! It is so mild in Geneva, I have just "disposed" of a stink bug and 2 mosquitoes! In the bloody middle of January! I know, Tom is going to tell us they are sunbathing in swimming trunks down in Ticino, but this is Geneva!
