Hello snow!

Yep, first snow on top of t'mountains- and a little sprinkling here overnight. Nothing today- typical November non-descript day.

Saw the first white hillsides just above the village last week - the Dents du Midi have been snow-covered for a few weeks. Yesterday was the first snow to settle here at the village level - still a couple of centimetres on the ground, more on rooves and on the trees - very pretty. More forecast over the coming days, with sub-zero temperatures overnight, but I don't think I'll be getting the skis out just yet.

I like checking the webcam on top of Säntis because it gives a good view of the surrounding valleys. A couple of days ago the skies were clear, and it was just the mountain tops that has a covering whilst the valleys were still green. It's a bit too cloudy to tell at the moment.

They said snow at 800m, but looking around me it's more like double that!

The weekend will be warm and sunny, so who cares what it does today.

I really do not like winter weather in Zurich. Seldom see the sun. Most of the time is depressive cloudy, and cold weather ... Summer is lovely though

The USA is the second biggest producer of greenhouse gases. Which maybe explains why the bad weather that europe receives has its origins to a great extent in the USA.

Get through November and you have got the worst month ( grey, wet )behind you! What is needed now is the cold weather with snow and ice. That changes the whole weather pattern

Can anyone tell me what the weather's like up in the Juras atm and forecast for next couple of days? We've got to make a quick trip to the UK and usually go over them to get to Dole and pick up the motorway there. Forecast I've seen is for snow and while we have winter tyres we don't have snow chains.

Basel is set to get temps of -1 tomorrow (high of -0!) with some sort of moisture for most of the day. I don't know about the chance of precipitation in the Jura, but if there is any at all, it'll be snow.

Boris has won the General Election, and we have bloody snow!!!

Things can only get better!!!
