The trip home from work on the bicycle was ... exciting

I had to work really really hard just to maintain 13 kph and not fall over in the head wind.

...and then I turned a corner and the tailwind shoved me ahead 4 kph!!! I had to hit the brakes so I could make the next turn.

Sunny, snowy, winter wonderland today- just how I love it.

Going up top for a nice run in snow with doggy and H - and a nice lunch up there for my 'erotic' birthday, as a friend just called it, lol.

Sunny here too so I expect what snow we got will be gone by this evening. And that's probably it for this winter.

Gorgeous at the top- nice BD lunch then lovely walk in the snow, strong sunshine with lovely views- and Emma running like crazy. She is 14.5 years old and runs like a greyhound- and loves the snow.

Apparently hale down in the valley last night- nothing here.

This weather sucks!

and today- a sunny, amazing, wonderful - winterwonderland. As no wind, the snow covers trees and we have about 30cm of fluffy, sparkly snow overnight. Just down in the Valley- nothing!

Vaudois, head up to Métabief Mt d'Or or Les Rousses - today or tomorrow, great conditions and rain expected Thursday. Cross country great too.

Oh no it is NOT. Absolutely beautiful up here - days like this are what I love best about where I live. The light is amazing- no wonder this is where local farmers turned watchmakers and their wives, lace makers- in winter- this amazing light <3

Forgot to ask- did they sleep in it. I remember my dad building an igloos with my 9 year old brother and when they finished dad said it was so good, good enough to sleep in it. And my bro took him to his word and dad had no chance to go back on his word- made a door with a double blanket- old sacking on the floor and a couple of bin bags and sleeping bags- minus 20 that night. They enjoyed their hot chocolate in the morning.

Another gorgeous sunny snowy proper winter day. Head up to play in the snow with the kids this afternoon, if you are close to the Jura. Again, Les Rousses and Métabief have great conditions.

It's apparently 8°C which shouldn't be so bad this time of year but boy does it feel cold!

Vaud was marvelous today. The warmth of the sun made me sit and admire the view, of the lake and the alps in the distance.

moving to switzerland I thought it would be a winter wonderland all the back half of the year. Instead its more of a mild english winter with a flurry thrown in every now and then.

And when I thought oh, spring is coming there it is - windy and cold again...
