Re: Weather!

Many areas towards the west under high wind advisories for tonight. Secure your furniture, etc. Last time was also a level 2 warning, but one gust was so strong it blew apart our balcony table. Everything is secured today.

I don't mind pinning down a lounge chair when it's sunny with a light breeze, but hail and winds aren't really my thing.

Re: Weather!

It is crazy, talking to one of the older gentleman who lives in my building he was saying that 20 or 30 years ago it used to get cold enough for lake zurich to freeze over. I dont know if i ever want it to be that cold here, but it would be a sight to see.

Re: Weather!

Lovely and sunny after clear night and heavy frost.

Great conditions for skiing in Métabief/Mt d'Or with fab views of the Alps.

Re: Weather!

Thank you, Omtatsat, for that lovely collection of videos and photos of the Seegfrörni.

An old man told me, years ago, that at that time he had lived in Wollishofen and worked in Seefeld. Back then, the trams were less frequent. When the lake froze over, it took him about the same time to walk briskly across the lake as it had taken him to go around it, via Bellevue, but he arrived at work elated.

Re: Weather!

Snowing this am, not bright and sunny- all white.

A lot of photos with lakes frozen are from the days when the shores were not consolidated, concreted, etc- and therefore shores were much more shallow, as in Neuchâtel.

Re: Weather!

Woke up to blue skies and lovely sunshine - but wow, the East wind is blowing so hard (la bise) and it is very cold out there. Might go gardening later, but will have to wrap up really warm.

Re: Weather!

Bright blue skies and sunshine and the bise has dropped a bit, but still cold. I should manage to stay outdoors a bit longer after lunch though- hopefully (in my own garden before I get flamed for being outside at my age...).

Finish to empy second compost bin and dig it into 2 veggie raised beds ... age or no age

One thing for sure, getting outside and keeping one's SOH is the best recipe to stay sane and safe.

Yes. Corona will someday been seen as a blessing for this planet. And don't think that this weather has nothing to do with Corona. It has everything to do with it!

Re: Weather!

Same again, sunny, blue skies but the 'bise' is chilling- only managed about 1 hour out in garden. Snow forecast ...

All white when I opened the shutters- but now all green again apart from the meadows across the valley
