and the Chinese are again being blamed for it. | | | | | Dumb question — is low ozone somehow connected with the lockdown/pandemic? I thought the reduced industrial activity had reduced air pollution which I thought might have improved ozone levels?

It clouded over near 4pm and started to rain, big, fat drops- and I was so happy as the garden and the countryside is parched- got everything in, cushions, washing, covered the brazero... and then, it stopped. Aaargghh.

Even then it just says slight rainfall possible. We've already had two dry summers and winters; we need rain badly. |

Drought is gradually spreading across the country. There are hardly any chances of rain. The reason for this is a very specific, persistent weather situation.

yes, countryside and wildlife, birds, desperate for water and not even May yet. Just madness ... today was gorgeous again but with some welcome cloud.
Please please put large saucers of fresh water out in several part of garden or balcony, etc- for birds and hedgehogs. Hedgehogs rely totally on snails, earthworms and slugs, with some beetles- as there are none out there.

I've been "worried" about the lack of rain for about the last month now. At least it seems that's how long it has been since we had any reasonable amount of precipitation.
And I look at the two week forecast and see a tease of rain this afternoon and then... nothing for a week and a half. |

Does it start in the west and then goes east or from south to north or vice versa. Or does it originate on the Matterhorn and then spreads out? |

Rumour has it that space aliens have been shining lights on it, hence the drought and a new conspiracy theory.
