Along with rain, a pretty drastic temperature drop is anticipated for Monday.
Where were you the past few days? I already refreshed my cold.

Re: Weather!

Can somebody please explain what is up with the wind? With a few breaks it has been continuously blowing in the mid 20kph range for weeks.

It’s not the bisé, thank goodness, but it is irritating. Windy days are the worse for hay fever.

Actually it mostly has been the Bise. Cause has been a sequence of high pressure areas to the north of us causing a north-easterly wind. Been a near constant theme on the SRF weather forecast the last weeks. Should fade away today.

See this commentary from yesterday for example.

North East wind from central Europe and cold. In the hot days of summer its nice. But not at this time.

It drives me fu**ing crazy, this grey in grey darkness.
This is the second time this year I'm in a bad mood. So my quota for three years is already used up.

The weather has always had an effect on my mood tbh (not really significant, but I do feel a bit depressed when it's raining and it's grey for days/weeks on), but ironically, I'm too happy that things are slowly getting back to normal after corona and everything, not even the weather can spoil it.

Yeah, well, Zürich... If you change your location on your EF profile to Basel, everything will improve instantaneously.

I know. Basel is where "sonnige Gemüter" (sunny dispositions? - It's not properly translatable) like me come from.

Although, just changing the profile on EF does not work. Or having it in the passport would do the trick to have that one sun-beam shining on my home in this canton.

Re: Weather!

German news just predicted: "13 to 23°C" in a tone of voice as if this was useful information.

Same here... I also keep trying to remind myself that the rain is good (and temporary). I read yesterday that they're expecting another drought later this summer.

That awful drought we had two summers ago really freaked me out. I had never seen trees look so thirsty before.

You're a Baselbieterin?

Try changing your profile. I'm convinced it'll work. Something about the new AI algorithms on EF...

Basel-Stadt. On my fathers line all the way back to ...... Ciba, at least.

So, a little while ago the clouds turned white, then ripped open to let me see some blue sky and my energy level spiked sky high!
Now what does that make me? A nature's child or a hopeless victim of meteorological circumstances?
Must say, the sudden effect today even freaked me a little.

See? Even thinking about Basel makes everything rosy again!
