Same here... I also keep trying to remind myself that the rain is good (and temporary). I read yesterday that they're expecting another drought later this summer.

That awful drought we had two summers ago really freaked me out. I had never seen trees look so thirsty before.
I know, I try to keep that in mind too but but....

Re: Weather!

The weather is normal at this time of the year. Its called the " Schafskšlte" (Sheep Cold)

Sheep cold is a meteorological singularity. Between June 4th and 20th there is often a cold snap in Central Europe. The cold of sheep does not occur every year. Due to the cool and humid air flowing in from the northwest, the temperature drops by five to ten Kelvin within a few hours.

Because everyone measures air temperature in Kelvin. (Well, actually they do, at least here in Switzerland, but very few express it that way.)

Re: Weather!

So what's better. Lockdown, clean air and great weather. Or no lockdown, air pollution, miserable weather? There can be no hope for this world so long as it continues as it is.

long-term weather forecast currently predicts only 1 day without rain in coming month: https://www.gismeteo.com/weather-zurich-1380/month/. Maybe safer to book something in Italy or Spain...

Re: Weather!

Now that's what I call a perfect day: Blue sky when getting up, a short but very wet rain-shower, wonderful and warm weather all day and now - judging from the rolling thunder - there will be rain again soon. My plants outside are perfectly taken care of without me lifting a finger.

edit: Didn't work, no rain, no proper thunderstorm. Ah well upper arm muscle training: Check.

They even talk about the hot temperatures over the last days. What hot temps. It hardly reached 30 degrees. Typical swiss exaggeration

Re: Weather!

this summer is rapidly deteriorating into one of the worst in the last 25 years The cause could be the lockdown ( which brought great weather ) and the effects of after lockdown and the return to pollution levels

Re: Weather!

I'm just happy that there is a cold front coming through tonight, bringing the temperature down from an unbearable 30C to a more pleasant 21C.

This is going to be a great weekend
