Sun has come out, and makes no difference!
Nope, but it looks nicer.
Just got back from a walk and have very pink cheeks.

Re: Weather!

I saw the forecast for sun and figured that I'd sneak in a short motorcycle ride. But the sun is deceiving and it is damn chilly out there! (3°). I think I'll wait to see what the afternoon brings....

Re: Weather!

Sunshine is out, and the bise has dropped, so quite pleasant- but really not as warm as past week. We will have that raclette inside, I think.

Turned out lovely and spring like so we could play with the kids outside.

I'm putting the ski gear back in the storage boxes today
It's all over for us at least, won't be travelling anywhere to get decent snow.

Was at Leysin last week, snow boarding in light walking trousers and a t-shirt, no gloves or jacket required. More sun tan than cold.

Getting the garden sorted is next up, still a bit cold to sit out at night but nearly there..

Pulled my batteries yesterday to top them up, back into the bikes in the next days.

Daughter took hers to Vallemaggia overnight.

Re: Weather!

Conditions still great in Thyon 2000- so this week, and then probably a few days mid March- then we will be done.

Re: Weather!

Skiing conditions are still great here, despite the sunshine. Sure, some exposed pistes were a little slushy late in the afternoon, and there was a patch or two of ice on the north-facing (i.e. sun free) run back down to the village from Follieuse, but all in all really pretty good conditions.

The sheer amount of snow that fell a few weeks ago is helping keep it cold and in good shape. There's still almost a metre in our garden, at 1350m and in the sun, so it shouldn't be that surprising that the pistes are still good.

Honestly, I wouldn't advise anyone to pack up their kit or think that the season is over - it's even still possible it may turn cold again and we get more snow before Easter.

Incidentally, we have availability in several apartments over the next few weeks, and will be open to discussions about rates and lengths of stay, discounts certainly available to EF members. Learners welcome, lessons can be arranged.

Are you still planning to ski over here at all? Do let me know so we can meet up for a run or two...

I guess it's not a zero chance of going again .. But no more family trips or driving far..
The kids ski'd loads this year locally and had a great time but part of the fun for me is having a beer and eating out etc.. That's why i decided not to go far.

If we get another big dump of snow and St George opens again .. Just maybe ..

Yeah, it gets a bit routine if one just goes up and down. I enjoy St. George, it is a community.

Not sure yet- due to dates for Covid vaccine- stopping us for doing a timeshare exchange for a whole week. must be Sat to Sat! A pity. So probably will go back to the studio in Thyon as we can have flexible dates there. As long as we have our old dog, things have to be organised around her, and it gets complicated.

Re: Weather!

Great weather today even though the forecast looked quite grim when I checked.

The spring has really come. Anyone else here ready for the spring cleaning?

Well, I planned to do the bedroom windows today but what can I say? Too much direct sun for the task.
Bummer

why? skiing is one of the only places you _can_ still have a beer and eat out.

Re: Weather!

Really enjoyed 4 Vallées this week- hardly anyone on the slopes or lifts, and all the cafés on slopes did take out, in the sunshine

Well we do need a spring cleaning after near continuous occupation since last March.

Are you volunteering?
