The rainbow cloud effect happens when the cloud scatters sunlight into different wavelengths. The "Northern Lights" are caused by charged particles from the sun ionising atoms in the upper atmosphere causing them to emit light and can only be seen at night.

Sunny in Geneva, yesterday, 9 degrees but if you sit in the sun, i did the lizard thing and sat on a terrace and followed the sun.
I have a bit of a sun tan today. Those freckles....

Yucky rain this morning in Geneva, but seems to be better this afternoon.
About my sun tan the other day - i looked in the mirror and don't look dead anymore.
Also, it's very good for the morale just to get a few rays a day.
In Geneva we go up to the Old Town, there is a terrace there that is open all year round. They even put pashminas on the chairs to keep you warm.

So that's where all the bed fleas transit! Apparently it's a real problem in Geneva! Can even get the little buggers from sitting in the tram!

Reminds me of the story of Mum about the Nordlicht . She and friends, after a festivity on the Munot in Schaffhausen on a Saturday, were on the way back home, when they saw the Nordlicht. But as they were watching the thing it transformed into the SUN getting up.  |
