It would be lovely if it was to continue like this for the rest of the summer.

Warm and sunny days, cool nights, what's not to like?

Doing sports in this heat is a killer. Saps my energy

Re: Weather!

Well, after 20 years of having to slog back to coastal FL for our summer visit, anything south of 30 looks positively cool to me. I don't like it this hot either, but as long as the nights are cool I'm OK. I feel for folks in hot city apartments. We'll be there by tomorrow night too, even at 720 mtrs. Going for 31 tomorrow.

Naaaaa, it's never really hot in Switzerland. People have cold even in the hottest summer day, otherwise...why socks with sandals?

Once it gets beyond 25c I can't cope with it, the humidity in Basel is awful for me as well. I've had summers where I've gone back to Scotland for a month as I end up being a prisoner in my apartment

Sorry Cherub, this made me laugh! After 8 years in Scotland (split between Aberdeen & Glasgow), I am thrilled to be in Basel with the blue skies and sunshine - I even braved the hot sun yesterday to go and buy a pedestal fan for my apartment. The joy to need such a thing!!

Going for runs or bike rides at the weekend early in the morning is lovely in this weather - it's generally still cool.

Coming back for a shower and a lazy breakfast outside is perfect.

I get up at 4:30 just after the first Amsel sings. It's the most beautiful time of the day. Crashing thunderstorm and rain last evening!

Long hot line at the car wash...don't know what is worse--the pollen or the Sahara sand. A big group of Hogs from deepest darkest Glarus pulled in to gas up. They were all wearing full leathers.

Sudden severe thunderstorms again. Methinks the gods are punishing us for the results of the pesticide votes. No hail in the immediate area, but some places got it quite badly.

It was all Zeus and Demeter's doing.

Felt pleasantly cool afterwards.

Whereabouts? I'm a Fifer myself and I miss the haar, the hailstorms and the 80mph wind from the Forth that lifts you off your feet, not seen the seafront since March of last year.

Re: Weather!

Some pretty violent storms here in Zug, hailstones the size of 1 fr coins falling for several minutes straight and carpeting the streets in white. I've never seen anything like it.

And I'm really not looking forward to seeing what state my car is in

edit luckily I seem to have gotten away with it, I didn't end up with a Golf (ball) <groan >

Crikey Castro - fingers crossed for the car. It’s windy and rainy like yesterday in ZH
