Can't wait- time for a proper winter- we really want to ski, x country ski and snow shoe. Horrible rain today, yuk- this is not what winter is all about
At least it's not +15 like it was last weekend (Geneva). I guess we all will have a freezing February.

Re: Weather!

Still snowing heavily- at 950m in the Neuchâtel Jura hopefully it will stay this time. Snow is quite wet though, let's hope it dries up overnight and turns to powder.

Wet snow/big flakes, is because it's not cold enough - great for kids ..... snowballs and snowmen.
But if it doesn't get any colder, it won't be good for much else, until it's squashed and freezes .... then it's too icy - and wont turn into powder; it needs to be colder and small flakes.

It's not - and wont be for the next week - be cold enough, below 1000m for proper snow.

Re: Weather!

Wet but not too wet snow will make a very good base for the slopes if ratracked well- and then, hurrah when the good stuff comes

Re: Weather!

Was feeling tired today so went to bed for a couple of hours. When I wake up I find it's been snowing nearly the whole time I've been asleep! Hadn't checked the weather forecast for a couple of days so not expecting this.

Re: Weather!

A sunny gorgeous winter wonderland this morning here- minus 6C and dry. Drove to Neuchâtel to meet friends and it was greyish all day and damp cold. Started snowing just after 3, but again, horrible wet snow. Drove up back into the mountains- in thick slushy stuff- only to find 25cm of fresh fluffy powder up here. Xcountry skiing beckons tomorrow- yeah Anyone joining us?

Forecast for sunny tomorrow- then snow all week, with sunshine on Wednesday.

Re: Weather!

Hi everybody!
Coming originally from a warm country in southamerica, the swiss weather makes me nuts sometimes, it's a love-hate relationship. I enjoy spring/summer/fall and I have a hard winter time in here. I wanted to ask you something: does anybody feels a sick when the weather changes dramatically? I realised I feel like a pressure in my head, some difficulties breathing and headaches, for instance, when is going to start snowing or if suddely we change from 12° to 5° etc. This situation lasts a couple of days. I have been dealing with this since I arrived 6 years ago and I have been to the doctor because of this problem, descarding any serious health problem. The doctor told me that some people are more "sensitive" to this weather fluctuations and to me sounds just crazy (yeah, I paid a full consultation and they told me that and send me back home with a big bill).

Greetings

Why not? We know some animals are sensitive to pressure changes, etc, so why not some humans?

Welcome to the forum.
