Trying to snow here at 600m. Very small flakes atm so not laying so far. Forecast says it'll be nastier later on and overnight.

Snowing quite heavily at 950m in Jura mountains. About 30cm overnight, and still snowing.

Yesterday it snowed so hard we just could not be bothered to go and shovel it!

So up early this morn' and just come in. Glowing and full of fresh air.
About 40cm of, thank goodness, light fluffy snow. The snow blower worked well and our shovels, and got the job done.

A clear day, but sun not out yet, it looks very pretty

XC ski tracks above us should open soon. And out local French resort, Métabief-Mt d'Or will open partially today.

Higher up - tons and tons of powder. Without a good solid base, avalanche danger will prevail - take care.

A couple of snowflakes this morning in Aargau, it seems on the other side of Switzerland snow is more copious. As always, winter tires seem to be missing from some cars

A winter wonderland up in the NE/VD Jura. Fluffy, sparkly snow, massive blue skies and sun.

XC ski areas not all open, and even the smaller resorts are ready, Les Rasses, Métabief, and Les Bugnenets (home the the Cuche family).

Magnificent hoar frost this morn' due to VERY cold temps last night. Some parts of Jura near Mouthe (F) and La Brévine (CH) got to minus 36.5

the best weather in the world- very crips dry cold, hoar frost with sun coming through the trees, and huge blue skies. With that very special light called up here 'la lumière des horlogers' - watchmakers' light.

13.30 update- east wind is blowing a gale and all snow drifting west- still sunny though.

Bright but not sunny tody, but the east wind (la bise) is blowing very hard, so the mius 3 feels more like minus 15! Snow drifiting all over the place, including roads of course.

Full sun, sparkling new snow, -3C and still. Town is jammed with ZH and SG plates. Ski season is in full swing, and every morning the avalanche explosives ready the slopes. What a paradise!
