The weather is bad.
Switzerland is currently experiencing high (plateau) to very high (Basel, TI, AG, ZH, GE) levels of air pollution (brown smog/PM10) caused by traffic fumes (Diesel) and possibly other sources.
Particularly vulnerable are people suffering from asthma or those with existing lung or heart conditions.

Or do you just mean it doesn't feel like the season should yet? If so, give it time. It only started officially yesterday. | | | | | As nice as the lovely sunny weather was I'm actually quite happy that we've got some rain now. It's excellent for the garden and it does still feel like spring to me. | This user would like to thank Belgianmum for this useful post: | |

The 'Curse Of The Primula' has struck again!
I truly thought spring had sprung. Weather forecast for sunny weather in the high single to double digits.
So having for the last 6 weeks steeled my resolve and resisted their siren call, I finally broke down yesterday and bought a flat of colorful springy primula. Spent the day clearing away the ravages of winter, looking forward to planting my cheerful harbingers of spring...
And it snowed last night.
Curses. Foiled again.
Note to self: Do not tempt Mother Nature by planting primula too early. Do not tempt Mother Nature by planting primula too early. Do not tempt Mother Nature by planting primula too early. Do not tempt Mother Nature by planting primula too early...

We were going to change over to summer tyres yesterday, but couldn't because it rained all day. New plan is to do it Wednesday as the OH has a day off - forecast is for snow! This is what comes of trying to change them early. |

No clue what it means
Bit like "lang may yer lum reek" Always thought that was somehow linked to outside WCs?

Here's an explanation for you. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/till-may-is-out.html

And in French it is:
En avril, n'ôte pas un fil
En mai, fait ce qu'il te plait.
(in April do not take off a thread,
in May, do as you please)... so March is really pushing your luck- although primroses are incredibly weather-resistant-but perhaps not those shop bought raised in green-houses.

I am near Neuchâtel, in Neuchâtel Jura mountains not in the town- at 950m a different world up here
No more snow during the day- and all gone from the ground, although tips of trees higher up are white... just a bit grey, with sunshine just behind the clouds.

Not snowy at all down here, been about 10°C most of the day but it's a bit grey.
They've been threatening us with rain for the past two days but no sign of it yet.
Beautiful drying days on Monday and Tuesday and yesterday was beautiful ( but windy) until about 4pm when it got rather cloudy and dull.
