Re: Weather!

I can't be the only one who's underfloor heating, becomes underfloor cooling when it's hot?

It's still slightly above 'normal' inside, but with a temperature differential of minimum 12°, from outside, it's still relatively pleasant indoors.

It definitely works that way at our place! All the valves are open and the floor is nicely cool

I'm freaking out about the weather forecast for the weekend and I want to go someplace nice, where the temperature could be below 30° C during the day. Anny suggestions?
Scotland isn't bad either (apart from Iceland). The temperature is predicted to be in early 20s and late teens.
If you are referring to somewhere in Switzerland, try the high(er) altitude places such as Zermatt.

Hang stuff outside when still very wet (shirts on hangers) and in most cases, you won't have to iron and can get roasted in this lovely weather - with clothes dry in a couple of hours, if not minutes

Even worse in downtown Lausanne, the humidity factor is keeping the effective temp above 34°C... My studio is at 28° and the fan is running at full power to keep me able to function. I've spent several hours in my bathroom with a camping armchair just to stay cool today, and I've shutdown just about every computer in my place. Watching TV on the mobile phone instead of the TV because of heat factor. And I have to do this for 4-5 more days? Maybe more? Gah!

If the thermometer is to be trusted, this is from Lausanne Gare yesterday (i.e. Thursday) at around 2040.

I use http://www.meteolausanne.com/temperature.html which seems to agree. Damn heat!

Looks like it was measuring in the sunlight which is not standard WMO procedure. Mine showed 32.7 yesterday (2m above ground, white casing, shadowy northen side) in Echandens (ca 490m asl).
