Plus like 80% more sunlight actually reaching the ground due to relatively clean air? :P But, measure T in shade and you will get nothing like New Delhi (this plus low relative humidity here). One cannot simply compare CH to India

Cheers!

Re: Weather!

I do agree with the technicalities , just saying that surprised to see that CH also can have weather that makes one feel exhausted due to the heat and reach out for chilled lemonade!!:-)

Re: Weather!

It must be what one is used to i guess. In India, we expect the summer to be bad, so we accordingly take precautions, try to stay indoors, the food we eat in the summer is different , we are mentally better prepared as well! While here, its a shocker for me as i don't expect it! Its a welcome break , just unexpected!

Hi Sumita

What sort of food? This might help a few of us that've become lukewarm puddles.

Ta in advance

Rain being predicted for here on Wednesday with temps between 16 and 23. Bliss! Please, please, PLEASE be true!
I hope it rains as well, except that it just might produce more humidity

I am not meant to live in this kind of weather.

Hi Greg

1)lots of home made lime water , one glass every couple of hours
need to add a pinch of sugar n salt while making it.
could add a pinch of roasted cumin, just to break the monotony.
2)cucumber ,by itself, or added in yogurt
3)melon slices
4)watermelon
5)vegetable(especially gourds and onions) and fruit based diet, really!
6)avoid red meat if possible
7)rice instead of wheat
8)yogurt
9)water,lots and lots.

this list takes me back to my childhood, with grandma fussing over us in the summer holidays ! Ah well!

Re: Weather!

I stole this from a Facebook group I belong to (apologies to whoever posted it if you are on EF).

Excuse the language, but it kind of sums up the weather at the moment. Made me chuckle anyway..

Re: Weather!

Our neighbour just came home with a new portable AC unit.

I think I might move in with him.

Or I may just join you Odile and have another G and T.

Re: Weather!

It feels like it's still around 29 or 30 at 19 hrs here at our chalet in Chatel at 1260 meters. My geraniums are looking rather wilted. I went hiking this morning as soon as the lifts opened because I knew it was going to be terrible this afternoon. Bottom line, even 1260 meters is not high enough to escape this. Can you imagine what Florence, IT must be like today with all of the tourists? Gah!

Enjoy

General advice to all:
Alcohol or not, everyone please be careful to stay very well hydrated in this heat. Make sure you always have water and ice close by!
