Tom, you should try it, it's very liberating. |

I am wearing Daisy Dukes and a wife-beater and I am 53. Don't try to picture it because then you cannot un-picture it.

I bathe or shower twice a day now. I hate being clammy! (sorry, tmi, gross!) |

I have neither blow-dried my hair nor flat-ironed it for ten days now, due to multiple, multiple showers. My husband of 29 years looked at me yesterday and said, "Um, what's going on with your hair?" | The following 3 users would like to thank TheSpouse for this useful post:

Been so hot here inb Leukerbad- but much better yesterday after 2 rainstorms. Not too bad in Saas-Fee for our visit today- but boiuling here since our return to Leukerbad, and not a puff of wind! Will have to leave all windows opened to try and get through drought. Off to Faffleralp tomorrow, hopefully a bit cooler.

Oh, we missed each other in Saas-Fee by a couple of days! You could have heard me yodel! Must have been very quiet there now that all the yodellers, Fahnschwinger and Alpine Horn players have gone.

| | Re: Weather! | Quote: | | | | | A storm went over us at 3am, I was restless and awake because it was too hot so I went outside to watch the storm for a bit. It wasn't the biggest/longest storm I've seen but it's the closest I think I've ever been to a lightning bolt. I love storms but this one bolt terrified me I was shaking! It happened around 3.10, maybe 3.15 it must have been soooo close, it set an alarm off and woke our computer up from sleep mode!!! I'd wager it was no further than 400m away maybe even closer. The light was blinding and there was no sound delay, and the sound didn't sound like the usual boom or crack or rumble it sounded like a bang, like a bomb went off! It even "felt" close. It was old testament af! Told my family in the morning who'd slept through it and put it on fb but nobody really cares, so I'm telling it on this thread haha! | | | | | If there was very little or none sound delay then the bolt either struck your building or no further than 50-100m. Each 380m of distance in humid air adds a second of delay between flash and thunder Also, a thunder from up-close sounds like a poping baloon only magnified 1000 times. In case of multiple consecutive strikes in one point the sound will reverberate and then you might hear an echo from the local buildings. But if it activated the alarms in cars and caused short break in electricity supply, then it was your house which has been struck and the safety system preventing damages to equipment kicked in. Lucky it didn't fry your computer or TV | Quote: | | | | Been so hot here inb Leukerbad- but much better yesterday after 2 rainstorms. This happened last year and there were no accompanying rumblings. | This user would like to thank vuachère for this useful post: | |

Not looking forward to this evening. The wind has whipped up here already in the Geneva countryside. Been out to make sure everything's put away. Washing only took 2 hours to dry! Brought it all in before my knickers end up in nextdoors garden.

We had a sleepless night because the baby was too hot to sleep and was feeling miserable. The two older ones are irascible and fight constantly. The fact the heat makes me short tempered certainly doesn't help | The following 3 users would like to thank Mélusine for this useful post:

The wind is really kicking up in the area and I can hear distant rumbles.
From down here it looks like maybe they are getting a good deal of rain up at St. Cergue as it is dark, gray and hard to see the dome.
PLEASE let the rain and cooler temps come down the mountain to our area! Please?!?!?!
Edit: 5 minutes passed from me seeing the weather to coming down to the basement/computer to type- went back up to the top floor and now I can see the dome fine and the dark gray has moved on. No rain for my garden today?

| | Re: Weather! | Quote: | | | | | This morning when we got up, we noticed the neighbors had moved their bed out on to the balcony overnight. Seems like not such a bad idea tonight! | | | | | To save me camping out on the balcony at night these days ( besides not having enough room) I have stowed a couple of hot water bottles filled with cold water in the fridge. Bed time, i can place them on my feet or wherever needed, but especialliy I find under my shoulders and neck area help me to reach the land of nod with no fretting, that together with just a plain cotton sheet on top that I can pull on or push off as I like.
Keep cool till after school y'all, it will be over soon and then we will probably be moaning about the cold again.
