LOL thanks - but how do you snowboard one step at a time (lol ) - just can't be done!
It's just a manner of speaking ... Take your recovery one step at the time. I know that knee injuries are serious and my better half stopped being a tournament player due to them.

However, with some exercises around the knee area you might be still able to tackle the slopes. Not that you will be skiing steep slopes, won't you? Blue and red runs should be in order

I always encourage progress and I'm tough on myself sport wise. If I suffer injuries, I keep on working out until I'm back in the game irrespective of one's age.

Re: Weather!

LOL, yes I know what you meant- just joking.

As it is a very old injury (45 years) the surgeon will have to shave off loads of extra bone and he says the tendons are all atrophied- so not to expect miracles. He was totally gobsmacked that I still ski and that I learnt to snowboard on that knee aged 50. So.. see how it goes. In the meantime, I won't waste any of it on chores. But we digress- back to weather. Thanks.

Went to Saignelégier today and xc skied in a blizzard for an hour or so, and then a mix of sunshine and cloud. Only 1.5 hours from Basel and loads of trails.
You should go back there this weekend if you're free. They have the dog sled racing this weekend.

Re: Weather!

They appear to have closed the xc skiing and the webcam today showed grass where all the snow is meant to be.

Re: Weather!

Drove through the very long Vallée de la Brévine and the xcountry pistes still looked good- and were quite busy.

That doesn't surprise me at all, it's been incredibly mild and sunny these past few days. I hope they got some sleds with wheels on or the dogs will have nothing to pull.

Re: Weather!

I've turned the central heating off. Was off all night too. Temp when we went to bed last night was 10C, now it's 11C. It's the end of January for heaven's sake!

Possibly. My daffodils already have buds. Might even flower next week.

Your daffodils might flower next week. Definitively spring is just around the corner

Re: Weather!

It's been raining sideways most of today.

Hubby was getting stir crazy, there was a break in the rain so off he went for a walk. It's now raining sideways again, so I'm expecting a very soggy grumpy man home any minute.

Same here. Luckily, watching the Aussie Open's final killed most of the morning's boredom and now few movies to boot. Unfortunately, cannot go jogging because of my soft throat and cold. That's kind of temps when the germs feel good

Re: Weather!

Are you still here Odile? I can see clouds boiling up over the Jura mountains and am wondering if you've disappeared in them. Looks like you might be getting some snow on Wednesday/Thursday.

Re: Weather!

Much better today, but still no sunshine- far too warm for time of year and everything's turned green. Still patches of snow here and there, but our garden and fields are totally green and snowdrops up- No fog at all though.

Problem for the ski resorts and all the xc trails- all the base has gone now and all will have to start from scratch again - a disaster for them, the Hôtels, restaurants, etc.

Re: Weather!

Lots of black clouds drifting past while the clouds under the alps look spectacular.

We are at nearly 1200m on the Jura and have snow predicted tomorrow especially in the afternoon - not going to be enough for the skiers and the kiddies for half term looming up as warm weather predicted for later in the week..
