I guess the commune were a bit premature in removing the snow poles around your way.

Luckily main road ones haven't gone yet, but it looks like the snow has all melted off now anyway. Just another tease by Mother Nature.

If God is male, then Mother Nature has to be female. Of course I don't mind if you call God "she" and Mother Nature "he", agnostic that I am.

The noun god has no gender (as nature is also genderless) so you really could not say that it is he or she. Unless you have met it personally - but then we wouldn't be talking here

True, but then again - "in the name of the Father ..." doesn't sound very female to me. Having NO idea of what this mythical being is like the best option is to call it - "it".

Re: Weather!

Gorgeous Spring day - not a cloud in sight and great sunshine, still some now around- but 10C. Great to get back to sunshine after a rainy week in Sicily. Well we did have some sun, but lots of heavy rain and wind- and not much warmer!

I think that spring it really here! We did some hiking around Sissach and I had to take off my jacket AND unzip the fleece - it was great!

Re: Weather!

Spent the last 2 hours changing over to summer tyres. Was on course for about an 1 for the changeover then the last wheel refused to come off. Thought we'd have to put the other 3 back on again, but finally we managed to persuade it. Only to find when we went to move the car that the electric nut removing machine had drained the car battery because the nuts were so stubborn about being undone. So now that's having to be charge up before the car can be driven again.

Wonder why I'm mad? We took the car into the garage yesterday to have the brake pads changed and should have had them change the tyres at the same time. But no, OH said it'll cost 60 francs and we can do it ourselves. Frankly I'd have rather spent the 60 francs and have them do it in ten minutes! We're both exhausted and probably a little sunburnt and just hoping the charger will do the job on the battery. At least there's no bad weather forecast. Lovely way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon!

Re: Weather!

I wouldn't fit summer tyres yet ... Months of March and April are known for playing with high and low temps.

Re: Weather!

Yes, usually we'd leave it for a couple of weeks, but hols are coming up. We've umed and ahhed about when to do it (hence not getting it done yesterday), but OH decided we'd do it today.

It's done now. Believe me they ain't getting changed back unless the forecast is really bad!

Re: Weather!

Many years ago Mr. Longbyt changed his tyres at the beginning of April. One day about a week later it snowed heavily. On his way to work, the car in front of him stopped. He didn't. Well, to put it more accurately, he did stop in the end. Too late though.

Re: Weather!

It was rather very cold today
I did come across some wearing shorts or tank tops, but even three layers (including a woolen coat) just didn't make it warm.
