Re: Weather!

Yes maybe I forgot! But it seemed to rain endlessly in June. For me 3 months is a good summer. 2 months is too little.

25? More like over 30C day after day after day. About the longest 8-9 weeks of my life. So glad when it ended. What little rain we did get only made the humidity worse and did nothing to actually bring the temperature down a bit.

Re: Weather!

I don't think in the last 20 years that there has been such bad weather this year in Switzerland in June-maybe El Nino?

Re: Weather!

Visitors arriving from California, and more next week form CA and Britanny- and its cold and pouring with rain on and off.

Let's hope the weather will be better for next week-end and La Fête de l'Absinthe in Boveresse- as visitors who are great absinthe fans are coming from all over the world- but the forecast isn't good

It is probably a fluctuation of weather patterns after the strongest El Nino phenomenon on records last year. Now La Nina will most likely cause some problems in the late summer or fall but this is not yet certain. It might be a very good winter for skiers

Re: Weather!

This has probably been the worst May/June I have experienced so far in CH, since 1995 .

Re: Weather!

Well the sun shone for aobut 1 hour so was about to suggest a lovely trip and lunch to Lac St Point- but dark and dingy again. Guests went to Creux-du-Van 2 days ago and saw - nothing!

Re: Weather!

My two sisters visited over the weekend. We were so lucky, they only experienced one heavy shower on Saturday, it was dry on Sunday except when we were in a cafe then a restaurant, then yesterday we had more rain in Basel, but it was quite exciting crossing a very fast flowing Rhein on the ferry in a heavy downpour!
