V-Zug customer service

My girl friend has an electric V-Zug two year old oven which always burns her cakes. I investigated and brought along a proper oven thermometer.

I used the oven at Christmas to roast vegetables, and to get an oven temperature of 180 C I had to set the control to 105 C. To get 200 C I set the dial to 115 C so the temperature control is seriously out of tolerance.

She called the V-Zug customer service who sent a repair man. He stated, it was no use using the thermometer, just take the V-Zug recipe book, follow the instructions, and everything will be fine....

I have an old cake mixture in the cupboard. I am going to bake a cake to his instructions and when he comes I will make him eat it!

that is a bizarre difference!
on the positive side, it might be a good pizza oven.

At the risk of sounding a bit "Oooh, matron!", could it be that the oven has a wonky knob?

Maybe, if it's an old oven, the switch has come a bit loose over the years and doesn't correlate exactly to the mechanism underneath. It is a pretty consistent temperature difference, which is what made me think of it.

Re: V-Zug customer service

The oven does not have a wonky knob. Even V-Zug knobs last longer than 2 years.

The oven hasn't been used much as it burns things... yes it should have been reported
during the warranty period. I don't know why it wasn't, I don't have a female brain.

Yes Pizzas cook in about 6 minutes!

With my male brain it looks like the electronic controls for the thyristor are defective.
