| | all Swiss account holders: control your account for a possible fraud/technical error all UBS account/cardholders please note:
Certain transactions from 20th Jan & 21st Jan have been booked/debited twice on almost all UBS Maestro Cardholders due to a possible fraud/technical error.
Duplicate transactions were debited today morning and UBS is working on it.
Having subscribed to mobile alerts on my UBS banking, I received a debit alert today morning @ 5:30 for a transaction which I had not scheduled. However, I totally ignored the message until a colleague at work informed me of a possible UBS Fraud and that I should control my account and follow-up with UBS.
Being alarmed, I then I logged in to my account to find two different transactions from 21st Jan being debited to my account twice.
Called up UBS customer care and the support agent told me that UBS is already aware of this issue and that it is a technical problem which UBS is working to resolve today or earliest by tomorrow. He said UBS reviewing this problem for all account holders irrespectively and working to fix it automatically. Check your accounts and keep an eye or follow-up I would say. | The following 14 users would like to thank BigB.ZH for this useful post: | Aislinn, cyrus, Griet, idefix, Joros, jot, jsherk, kngavl, Lausannebrit, MidfieldGeneral, mirfield, MrsSerendipity, st2lemans |

Thanks for the headsup - I have just checked our account and can see two (thankfully small) transactions that have been debited twice in the manner you describe. I'll also be keeping a close eye on things and following up with UBS.

Good thing is that you shouldn't need to contact your bank as it'll be automatically rectfied. Still, it shouldn't happen in the first place.

Yep, it is SIX that has the error and also transactions from the 19th. Alerted UBS who also told me I am one of a lot of people to whom this happened.

I had a double transaction booked on the 23rd. Today i looked and I found a reversal transaction listed so seems they have corrected the mistake. I bank with CS.

None of our transactions were affected and we bank with CS so I guess it didn't' affect all accounts.

Its not just cards, some cash transactions are also affected. I gave my wife 50 CHF to go shopping but when she came home she said it wasn't enough and wanted another 50.
