I think if you want to have a beer, hey wait, are you still selling that multipart table? And for how much?

I have to head out to Wollerau in the next couple days or the beginning of next week. It's not my thing, but I know someone who would love it. And for a 10, if you have an hour and still in, well where are you now(?), I can pick it up, and buy you a drink. Would be curious to continue the conversation we last had for an hour or so.

If your not wasting my time we can sort something out. Just let me know when your coming over.

Re: Bad manners from Forum members [Marketplace no-shows]

I think the bad manners in the market place often start with the ad. There are many examples where not enough info is shown. I mean, something like "Stereo for sale - 50 chufs" and that's the ad - no further info. WTF are people thinking when they just post that?

However the one thing that really, and I mean really, grinds my gears are the people who post photos where you have to crane your neck over at 90 degrees to see the item in question. Seriously, rotating a photo is not rocket science. It's not like smartphones and computers are new devices these days. Both both offer the ability to do this simply, and really, if you can't work out how to do it then you don't deserve this modern technology.

If I had my way I'd delete all for sale threads with incorrectly rotated photos - well actually I can, and maybe I'd start doing it if I were a bit more loose with my mod privileges.

That's my grump and rant over.

Why not just rotate the photos yourself, it's not as if it's very difficult

Guilty. But my computer hates me, and works when it wants to.

Re: Bad manners from Forum members [Marketplace no-shows]

Yup. Well, I've read some research about how we absorb information visually, and it is indeed filtered vertically, it gets stronger by age (not calling you old, Slaphead, no). And we assign a human shape to anything that mildly visually resembles a human figure or a face. Put things sideways and expect major confusion. Kids are better at this, logically, don't mind images upside down or twisted. They probably deserve technoligy more than we do.

Re: Bad manners from Forum members [Marketplace no-shows]

I don't really have a noob gripe, not this morning nor ever, tbh. A noob is a noob. What I have a little harder time with are people showing up to only desperately look for the cheapest physical hook up, or a passport spouse or asking us to help with separation so they do not have to return home, an economy refuge, which puts their primary reason to have a spouse here to a different perspective.

I have been thinking lately, I know with a size of our community increasing and scruples decreasing, in general, all this is to be expected.. Still like that loads offer genuine help and sincere pov or concern is offered here, old school feel or generosity of mind and heart, it does balance it out.

Giving away sth for free? --oh why dont I just write Pms

I'm getting kind of annoyed as I am currently giving away quite a lot for free in the market place. Getting many PMs but as it seems, nobody is really interested in the end. For instance I got 10 request for 1 item, I answer all of them according to the time they come in. Nobody writes back, even to say 'well no thanks I changed my mind'. I even followed up with the first 3 persons to make sure they received my PM. No reaction but I see that they were online. So person 11 was the lucky one to get the item as he actually showed up to pick it up.
The same is now starting for the things I actually would like to sell for a minimal price, no reaction to my answers.
Am I totally wrong to expect some reaction to my efforts in answering everybody, sometimes already planning a date, time and place?

No. It's not EF, though, just general bad manners. Happens quite a bit, also when selling - or buying - stuff on Ricardo, Tutti, whatever.

Oh I get the same thing with job offers. I just don't bother to get upset anymore (sometimes...). But one person picked up the thing so that's good.

In the same position here : offered an article for sale and received a reply from a woman who was "very interested". Gave full details, photographs, descriptions etc. etc. She did not have the grace to reply, so I wrote again asking her if the price was high and what did she suggest? Nothing...zilch. As a previous poster says, it's just bad manners. This, BTW was on Radio Rottu O-Bei section so it happens all over not just EF, Glocals, Ricardo.

As you can see, njusta83, you're not alone. But keep in mind many of the replies you get are from newbies that are subject to PM limitations. They send out 4 messages of "I'm very interested" and then are blocked from sending more for another 24 hours.

Sell what? Posts in Marketplace don't count toward the 10 in order to advertise.
