I had been planning to go to the store tomorrow but completely forgot that tomorrow is May 1st and so the stores will be closed here (canton Zurich / village Greifensee). So I just threw on my coat and boogied up to the store before it closed.

Did all of the shopping today; just hope I didn't forget anything.
Also, hope I manage to prepare something edible given my pastry fiasco earlier this week!
To hedge my bets, I bought plenty of wine in case I need to make up for the cuisine | The following 2 users would like to thank for this useful post:

My first weekend back here after 3 months locked down in the UK... boy did I pick a good one!
Had a whole day of shopping planned tomorrow (looking for a specific item) and colleagues coming for dinner on Sunday.
Instead, hurry home from work and fight my way through the crowds at Sihlcity Coop.
Almost no beer left on the shelves by ten to 8 this evening!*
Regards
Ian
* No, it wasn't me bought it all.

The festival of Walpurgis Night is named after the English Christian missionary Saint Walpurga (c. 710–777/9). The daughter of Saint Richard the Pilgrim and sister of Saint Willibald, Saint Walpurga was born in Devon, England in A.D. 710. Born into a prominent Anglo-Saxon family, Saint Walpurga studied medicine and became a Christian missionary to Germany, where she founded a monastery in Heidenheim. Christian artwork often depicts her holding bandages in her hand.
As a result of Saint Walpurga's evangelism in Germany, the people there converted to Christianity from heathenism. In addition, "the monastery became an education center and a center of culture'". Saint Walpurga was also known to repel the effects of witchcraft. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walpurgis_Night

Shops in Soloturn Argau Schwyz seem to be open.
Just google any major supermarket and a town to view the opening hours in the google summary.

In case you don't already know it, this side is useful to see which holiday will be valid where. Covers all of Europe and goes down to canton and even gemeinde level where that is relevant. https://www.feiertagskalender.ch/ | The following 3 users would like to thank for this useful post:

BL, BS, SH, JU, ZH, NE, TH, TI and some Gemeinde/Bezirk in SO and other Kantons. So if you live near Basel or Zürich - we've found another use for AG!
