Ok, well, the majority of the "interesting" panties go up to an L, which is a 108 cm hip, some styles go up to an XL, which is a 113 cm hip.
I believe a lot of the complaining was actually due to a lack of choice for larger bra sizes in all styles? Which makes sense in a country where many women get new noses at 16 and pneumatic breasts at 18. B)

Wow, this is still going on? Don't *any* of you have real jobs? (Trev excuses, of course, due to the medical condition known as Singaporitistimezonus).
Fat chicks don't shop at vicki's. Skinny guys don't, as a rule, eat at McDonald's either. Life goes on - and so too, I imagine, will this thread.

I was asking because we had a thread a while back about the Abercrombie sizes.

| | Re: Big girls need to suck it up | Quote: | | | | | Overall it feels like one should be apologising for not having kept up the (preferably pert, slim back-)side, | | | | | I don't love the fat shaming that goes on in our society. But this?
Ummm.... No. I don't, won't and never have apologized to anyone about my size, shape, opinion, what I wear (or don't wear) under my clothes, sense of humor (or lack there of), etc, etc. If they don't like any of those they can move on to someone that they prefer and, frankly, we'd both be happier that way anyway.
Who wants to be with someone who doesn't want to be with or appreciate all of you?
Random strangers think my jeans are too big?! And that should affect me how/why?

| | Re: Big girls need to suck it up | Quote: | | | | But this is medical, which as Richdog already said (i think) is a very valid and acceptable reason to be overweight and no amount of exercise, dieting or whatever will give any other result than being overweight.
As far as i understand, this is perfectly acceptable. | | | | | Perfectly acceptable by what authority.
The best thing to do is to find the eating/exercise plan that works the best for you, take good care of yourself and learn to love your body. Maybe it's puffy in spots or lumpy or saggy, but it still does a good job. You get up each day, you move around, you breathe and you laugh. No one has any business judging another person's appearance.
And by the way you can be fat and fit, slim and not fit. Or the other way around.
I'm going to have a piece of birthday cake.

There is shaming of almost any type of person off the middle of the normal curve. (even people right in the middle have to deal with "you'll never understand", "you don't know how easy you have it").
All-in-all it's one's personal issue, it's only yourself that get's wound up by the shamers. If you don't care what they say, it's no longer an issue for yourself.
Blaming others for your own personal complexes is just going to make things worse--whether it's retailers, marketers, advertisements, people with other values and desires than your own.
Accept who you are, or change to become the person you want to be---or do the counseling to become a positive member of society, but constantly playing the blame game is just pathetic.

| | Re: Big girls need to suck it up | Quote: | | | | | Sorry but I got to react on this one. I agree with your position and what you said but this bit made me cringe. What a real woman? All women are real, all size, shape, etc.
I hate this fat people bashing and I don't think it's fair to do the same with the skinny ones.
Real women don't have curves, real women come in all size and shape. | | | | | Had to join in here, I completely agree; the "real women" tag has always annoyed me, it's just skinny-shaming! | Quote: | | | | | It's like that slim woman who used to be in the Kelloggs Special K adverts. If you really ate that sugar-laden junk everyday, you wouldn't look like that. | | | | | Special K is my favourite breakie I do eat it every day, I also have a massive penchant for actual "sugar laden junk" like chocolate, icecream, marshmallows!
Why shouldn't I maintain 50kg eating sugar-laden junk all the time? My fav non-sweet foods are salads and veggies and I don't care for cheese, fried food or meat. I am quite active too. Maybe the special K lady really does eat it every day I do and I'm small Edit, I only did a quick YouTube of the special K ads, the ones I saw all looked pretty normal, but if you are referring to one very slim woman in particular, please provide link!

Most of them fit their smallest size though, so that's fine, they deserve to work for VS. The others should bloody well get some burgers down them, after all, you should only wear the stuff if it fits!

| | | | | Eat what you want. I do!
But, it's been proven time and time again that thin people eat less than than they think they do and obese people eat more than they think they do.
Special K may be sold as a diet-cereal but it's got more sugar than things like Weetabix which isn't.
My three year old asked if we could have ice cream tonight and I said no, we'd make banana splits tomorrow night. He asked if he could have some salad instead tonight and he did!

Love special K, because, it's so sweet <3 And also "Fitness" cereal that's even sweeter, it actually has glaze on it. Yummy. Both cereals are sweeter here than they are in the UK too. Good! Slim women are not being offended here.
The subject is about larger woman who are "jealous" of models and need to "suck it up".
There's no need to offend
There's no need to have a laugh at somebody else's expense.
Overweight is not healthy.
Women can be beautiful and desirable if they feel good about themselves and also find a positive body image in the eyes of men who appreciate them and love them as they are.
I can shop if I wish to at VS (thanks to whoever posted the catalogue link, some of the lingerie is quite lovely)
I don't have the body of a model, am just an average and they have average sizes.
But in fact...... I just don't care
It's not the reason of my rant
I reacted strongly to the despicable unkindness.
You men love and desire women.
You want them to love you and cherish you and make love to you and listen to you and care for you. You want them to give you children as you wish to raise confident daughters.
So..... respect them

I honestly don't understand the problem. I didn't when the whole Abercrombie thing happened and I don't now. Companies may choose to serve whatever clientele they like - whether they want to design stuff only for slim women or short women or tall men or overweight men, or whatever else, it's their business and their choice.
So there's stores bigger women can't shop at - so what? There's plenty of stores I - as one of the slim (aka unreal ) women - can't shop at and I'm not even talking about special shops for the overweight. Contrary to popular belief, slim women can't wear everything either, but I would never even consider making such a freaking fuss if I can't fit in a Guess jeans because they are either too short or too wide or whatever else it might be So a specific brand doesn't offer the ideal size for my figure - I just shop somewhere else. "Problem" solved. Seriously, what is the big deal?!
(btw: VS is overrated anyway )

But your thread became an opportunity for something else, which happens here a lot..and it's tiresome, and ill informed.
I guess titling your thread "suck it up big girls" and people here see " you, lazy fatty". And jump in with glee.
The really sad thing is that i could see some of you labeling fat people as lazy or medically acceptable. Yes, i wonder if that's the UnPC joke someone thought about yesterday. I sure did, but it's not a joke.
And this whole anti-PC thing? What is wrong with being respectful. Are you all so miserable? Threatened?
It's an internet forum, people hide behind their screens, and the whole thing escalates. It's really unfortunate, because it makes this place less valuable. But it also creates a train wreck. Have to look at the twisted bodies.
The thread could have gone so many ways, but here we are.

The thread could have gone so many ways, but here we are. | | | | | It's called free speech, and giving an opinion that someone happens to disagree with is part and parcel of any debate, no matter how trivial the discussion.
If things written on the internet affect you (the OP was clearly a semi-trolling post) so much I suggest going outside and getting a breath of fresh air to remind you what the real world is like.
