What aggravated me in the first place had nothing to do with body type, size or color at all. What aggravated me was that I cannot fathom being insulted by a company, then turning around and wishing to be able to take part in that very company.
And of course the nature of the topic made for a nice deep pond to throw out a lure and put it in drive. | | | | | That's the same with Migros here. I seldom go there because they don't sell what I want to eat.
But I don't spend my time telling them to change. I go elsewhere.

You're just coming up with rubbish arguments for arguing's sake. Think of something intelligent please.

Because the food is baby food.
Because the time for the evening meal is 4.30pm.
Because there are 5 meals a day.

I think we are not understanding each others experiences, so as has been said, we won't agree on this.
I still retain my viewpoint though I completely understand how it seems totally illogical from an external perspective: adults should just eat healthily, end of.

At one of my previous jobs I had a female colleague who used to keep an extensive calorie chart on her desk; for everything she'd eat she had to consult her "file" so she can figure out whether she can "afford" to eat those things (I don't remember what was the maximum intake she was "allowed" to have - her words)...and she was like 1,75 m and 50 kg.... She didn't work as a model, and her husband was a massive, chunky man (initially I though she's making an effort for who knows what male model of a husband) What some women can do to themselves...
I don't want to live like that. I might have a few kilos more than what I "should" weigh but I prefer to be happy and enjoy my meals.. | The following 5 users would like to thank greenmount for this useful post:

The point is, eating healthily is not a great hardship, it just requires a slight bit of willpower and diccipline. Tiredness is not, and never will be, an excuse for letting your health slide. Especially more so considering that energy levels are also directly related to your diet, which also affects your sleep cycles and quality. | Quote: | | | | | At one of my previous jobs I had a female colleague who used to keep an extensive calorie chart on her desk; for everything she'd eat she had to consult her "file" so she can figure out whether she can "afford" to eat those things (I don't remember what was the maximum intake she was "allowed" to have - her words)...and she was like 1,75 m and 50 kg.... It must be a comfort-thing.
I was on my own the other night with the kids. One threw up all night long.
I didn't get much sleep.
But the next day I didn't feed the kids healthily and then sit down and eat donuts and ice cream all evening long.

Funny (or sad) to read in this thread how a handful seem to know everything better, and especially how women should live their life.
I sincerely hope that their daughters, should they have any, will be "lazy" or "tired" or just "fat" so they can suck it up, too.

It should be forbidden to smoke! It should be forbidden to prepare unhealthy food for children! These parents must have their children taken away!
Seriously, relax.

Anyway, more people than you care to know follow a losing weight programme based on a very low calorie intake, according to the theory that you have to eat less than you burn so you can lose weight. Exactly what you were talking about. | Quote: | | | | | What are you doing wrong? Well, you're not burning off more calories than you consume. Physics.
Eat less calories and healthier foods until you start losing weight.

. | | | | | No need.
There are social services and schools here which keep an eye on your children and will step in if they're malnourished or obese and support the parents in providing better care for their children.

Is that supposed to have some correlation to a person with a bad diet complaining of low energy levels due to tiredness? Or were you purposefully trying to appear as irrelevant as possible?

You seem to describe your experiences as the norm. I beg to differ.
I don't binge eat in front of the TV though - ever.
It's no big deal. I just don't feel like it (and we don't have a TV).

It's no big deal. I just don't feel like it (and we don't have a TV). | | | | | they aren't the norm, and they aren't really our experiences either parenting wise, but thats another topic. as usual with discussions things have diverted a bit from the original purpose. The point i was trying to make at the start is people have certain characteristics (fat, smoker, heroin addict) for sometimes the most unfortunate of reasons. Because one person finds it straightforward to have a particular diet doesnt mean someone of different genetic makeup will be able to follow that path so easily. what if someone has spent 10 years being beaten up as a child and eats for psychological release ? Do you tell them to just shut it and eat healthily, of course not, it is a more complex problem.
I have no sympathy either with the original thread, people should not be demanding big underwear in a particular shop because it suits their preference - a shop is free to sell to whom it wishes, but I think it is harsh to univerally define something as complex as diet and weight down to a simply arbitary message of changing your behaviour and the problem will go away. If it really was that simple there would be no obesity, smokers, drug addicts, alhoholics or any such problems in the world.
