However, it's simply inconceivable for you to have tried each brand, make, every variant, etc. And even if you had, that wouldnt make them bad, it merely would make them bad for you.
Long story short:
You found out that those YOU TRIED are unsuitable TO YOU, AND YOU ALONE (not counting people who may have similar experiences).
I always thought that most mattresses except some upmarket models are IMPORTED, but this may be an error

| | Re: Swiss mattresses are terribly bad, ALL | Quote: | | | | | Many thanks, Mark. Indeed, In meany different shops I got the same expensive foam mattress (different brands). I will star trying Ikea, but was hoping to also have access to brands in other countries with totally different features to the swiss ones, as either they fit to you, or one is lost with no alternative offers here. At least with me. The swiss mattress enterprise has made a huge business; I bought Bico, Roviva, Elite, Riposa, Happy... Probably I forgot another one. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | ay
If indeed this is true, then you are either very difficult or rather stupid to have bought all of them. Maybe you should try them, for a little longer instead of just bitching in a generalised fashion
Common sense says: If you do not fail even once, then either you very truely lucky or somebody else took the responsibility. If you fail once, you can learn. If you fail a second time, then it's finally time to learn. If you fail a third time, it can be bad luck, but probably not. If you fail for the forth time even, then just forget it, you will never learn, and it does not even help to tell you the truth, that you are too stupid.
So let's count:
Bico 1
Roviva 2
Elite 3
Riposa 4 -qed-
Happy ... not really, am I right?
"..."
Really, just one honest question: How much did you spend for all these mattresses? During what period?
But anyhow, you are a funny man, you really made my day!

Didn't you say you slept well in the München Marriott? Chances are they, as an international brand that presumably wants to provide the same experience all around the world, use one bed+mattress provider for all hotels.
Your best bet may be to verify that assumption with Marriott and have one delivered to your doorstep. Even if they have multiple providers having it delivered from germany should still be cheap compared to what you already spent.
Or pick a random hotel in France, make sure you can order their bed/mattress, go test-sleep and enjoy the hit.

My wife often complains about the sticky mousse all over the bed.

What on earth is this mousse everyone keeps talking about? We have an exceptionally comfortable Swiss mattress made by bico and I haven't noticed any mousse anywhere. If there was I would eat it and be fatter than I am already!
On a more helpful note john Lewis export from the Oxford street shop. You could probably get an very good mattress from them and get it sent out. We have had furniture sent here from them in the past.

| | Re: Swiss mattresses are terribly bad, ALL | Quote: | | | | | You are right that the material is not the samewhne we talk about tempur, foam or memory foam, or latex... But within eac of these categories, all companies order theri custom made blocks for each mattress from the same company in the swiss german part (I will try to send the precise info later). For example, I did not find recently a springs mattreses without foam on the surfaces, and this foam is a clear problem. Spring mattresses seem to work well for me.
Hi, I see your point, but I hope to reach people that might need to get the info I am trying to share to prevent them from useless spending and dispair. I thought the title I gave would call their attention easier as it contains keywords I would look up myself when searching in internet for relevant info.
Thanks for your advice.
THE SAME COMPANY ? Please give the name of that company NOW as your complaint otherwise cannot be taken serïously

Elitebeds in Aubonne next to IKEA sell mattress toppers made out of pure wool, pure silk or feather- much cheaper than replacement- and just down the road from you. And yes, you can find all sorts of mattresses in SC, even the old-fashioned one with horse-hair.
| | | | | Thanks so much for the recommendation. I love the look of their mattresses and wonder if I have slept on them before. They sound so familiar. Sadly, there isn't a showroom in Ticino so I might have to visit them in Suisse Romande at some point.

I haven't read the four pages of posts above, so pardon me if this has been already stated .... better to offer quick help, then none at all .....
... my quick help ..... there are loads of big furniture stores in Singen, Germany with good prices, lots of options and stock. They have it down to a science of delivering to your home in Switzerland, navigating all the customs, etc.
We have bought lots of furniture this way, including very nice, reasonably priced beds and mattresses.
Hope this helps,

In my opinion the best pocket spring mattresses you can get here are from Ikea. I spent over 6hours sleeping on them in the shop - even better to bring your own pillow. Similarly tested the other brands commonly found here like bico, robusta, tempur though they tend to use more foam and not to my liking.
For me pocket spring is alot more comfortable, better support and longer lasting than pure memory foam.
