As you're both wide awake would you like a demanding toddler for the day? She's given up napping, currently only eats carbs and Smarties and will only drink out of a red cup.

The dog has got the right idea: stay in bed with your paws over your face til it all goes away.

Hold it upside down and shake the mixture of dead skin, crisp crumbs and hand cream out.

Re: The micro-RANT thread

It's probably been mentioned earlier in the thread but probably deserves a refresh because it utterly gets on my nerves...

Don't people look forwards when they are walking anymore? Everyone is eyes down at their phone whilst barreling through town at rush-hour.

The amount of times I've had to do some kind of awkward shuffle-dance in front of someone who has suddenly looked up to discover they are on a collision course. FFS - put your phone away for the 5 minutes until you get to the office!!

But they have to update their FaceBook status, send a few tweets and whatsapps, check what is happening in Hollywood, find out the what is happening with Corazón ... you get the idea ... so many important things to focus on, before getting to the office.

I just put my shoulder down and provide negative reinforcement.

(followed up by my sincerest, "Oh! Entschuldigung!" )

Apparently, not a lot of rugby players in Switzerland...

In a similar vein, one of mine results from the number of times someone has said "Hallo" to me in the street and I've replied with the same, only to be met with withering looks, shortly before realising that were talking to someone on the phone handsfree. I remember when people would be carted off by the men in the little white van for talking to themselves in the street.

Re: The micro-RANT thread

My (maybe not so micro) rant o' the day:

When a known side effect of a veterinary drug is inappetence, why oh why would the manufacturer only produce said drug in chewable tablet form?

Chewable tablets are a nightmare as far as I'm concerned, whether they are for dogs or for children.

My Brownie can smell the drug in a chewable tablet however appetizing it looks, and will refuse to even sniff at it.

With the kids, it's the other way round: my youngest once threw a massive tantrum because he couldn't have algifor for supper

Ever heard of the German word Galenics? The active ingredient just by itself doesn't make a drug, the distribution and metabolism of such an active molecule can be influenced by the "delivery system". Hence, the chewable tablet might be the best suitable delivery way for said active ingredient.

I had hoped not to sell a kidney to buy a "child trailer"/jogger - but the Croozer doesn't have suspension.

I will need to buy the Thule
