| | The micro-RANT thread
A lot of things and people annoy me on a daily basis, but somehow don't quite reach the threshold for a post in the esteemed 'Complaints Corner'....
Voila! a thread where small rants can now be aired without the need to start a new one or seethe in silence.
So, I was driving through the tunnel this morning (100 km/h) keeping a safe distance to the car in front when some idiot races past me, cuts in front and then slams on the anchors causing me to do likewise (and drop my coffee and iPad) | The following 8 users would like to thank Castro for this useful post:

Indeed, speed cameras, BUT you are warned before the camera, and the cameras are in quasi hazardous areas. Not on a straight 3 lane highway with a speed limit of 45-50 like in some states.

Dear New Posters,
If you cast your mind back to your Advertising 101 course, you might remember your professor pointing out that the first hurdle to ensuring your message is positively received by your target group is establishing trust.
Popping into a forum with a first post recommending a service, as a newbie with no forum bonafides or history, fails that barrier.
Doing so while pretending you have no connection to the service fails spectacularly.
Repeatedly dredging up dormant threads to do the above goes beyond the spectatular, heading well into epic fail territory.
Spamming a forum is just shooting yourself in the foot.
This PSA is brought to you by the Council Against Sock Puppetry. You're welcome.

Green sent us the internet router without the street address, so it was returned to sender. They claimed it was our fault despite the address listed in many places on it account.. . Ooops

Foreign plated car accelerates as soon as I put my foot on the crossing and cuts in front of me.
Idiot car getting in the way of an ambulance.
Bunch of Germans blocking the exit to the tram. I had to shoulder my way through ... and then I realised it was their stop as well... ... and then i realised they were going to the same building as me... | The following 9 users would like to thank NotAllThere for this useful post:

My micro rant then of the day is the bloke who lets his dogs out to go crap wherever - got a large deposit that requires removal out there but it's raining so I will wait till it dries out & is less likely to stick to the spade.

Stick a long length of metal rod into ground as signal to prevent crap being trodden on, wait a few days for it to dry, and deposit it out in the pathway of dog-walkers! Dry so it doesnt stick to spade.
Damn dog walkers let their dogs off the leash before end of dogwalking dirt road just where we have a small gravel "extra" unfenced driveway entrance, dog runs onto property, hoopy-stoops and evacuates while owner admires trees of neighbor - while dangling orange poop packet from leash handle.
Now we have to fence and gate that piece of land TOO!

My complaint is that some mod here needs two threads to whine about the small things in life. Seems like first world problems only are not sufficient.

Ideally, you do this just after the post man has put some mail in the box.

. . . . . every day on the train - the chewing gum `poppers` (wa*kers)- the newspaper slammers (that is those unable to turn the pages of newspapers normally - I could go on and on . . but that would contravene a micro rant.

Oh, and those on the train who speak soooo loudly, be it to their fellow passengers (especially the ones diagonally across from them, better yet across the aisle) or into their phones.
Once about two dozen passengers and I endured a 20 minute tram journey during which a young woman loudly explained a whole lot of very personal and intimate details, including who caught whom in bed with whom, and what everyone had had to say about it afterwards. Right at the end, she said to her friend: "Abr gäll, das bliibt unter üüs, odr?" (But this will remain just between us, won't it?) and the whole "audience" burst out laughing.

Loud typers and mouse scrollers in the office. Didn't even know you could scroll so loudly! After almost 10 years of working at an open plan office it is the first time i'm complaining about noise |

SLUGS!
mother-f'ers ate all my lupine starts last year. Then all my squash plants. watermelons. cantaloupe. and on and on.
Ive had my baby corn plants in the guest room by the window. Planted 'em out a few days ago. Now they're all showing slug damage already.
That's it, this means WAR!
I'm off to the garden with a flashlight, a squirt bottle of diluted ammonia, and a few beers to help numb the pain (my pain, not the slugs'…)
