Review of Moving Company

I recently had a horrible moving experience and wanted to make sure no one else used these guys and had as many problems as me. Is this the place to do that? If not do you have a recommendation as to where I can do it? Thanks so much!

Re: Review of Moving Company

It is always a bit delicate when a person shows up here (first post) to flame so and so company because they are upset with them for whatever reason. All that under the cover of helping people on EF

If the comments are detailed and specific to things the company had promised to do etc. and did not, people on EF may take the information for its potential value. If it is another case of complaining of someone dropping/scratching/breaking something unfortunately that does not make the evening news.

I've moved your thread to the Complaints Corner. Before you name and shame the company here, and risk them getting on your case for defamation, make sure you've done everything possible to try and resolve the dispute amicably. Read your contract so you know your rights and responsibilities as well as what they actually promised.

Re: Review of Moving Company

Having had an awful experience with a moving company I can understand how you feel. I would never recommend the firm we used to anyone. In fact, I often warn anyone I can not to use them.

What I would suggest, as we did, is that you take up your grievances with the company involved before posting here. You need to give them every opportunity to put things right, if possible.

Our move involved a lot of breakage and damage. While the firm attemped to have the items repaired or replaced at their expense, it was a huge inconvenience and if the crew had been more experienced as promised, I suspect the move would have gone a lot smoother.

Re: Review of Moving Company

I always find it dangerous to do "naming and shaming" on sites like this, there's no way for the staff to verify info and to check if the claims are indeed correct. And even if so i wonder if this is the place to be for such things. And not to doubt TS being honoust and having good intentions often these stories are one-sided and a follow up in where problems eventually might be solved in a satisfying way are lacking.

Besides that, this is without doubt the main source of info for a lot of subjects for expats in Switzerland (Including myself) and i am currently myself looking for a cleaning company and a moving company in Zürich, so experiences are welcome, and i'd love a warning for the bad rats in the business.

So yeah, yes and no.
