But the spark has gone. Posting numbers are falling month on month. Most of the entertaining members have left or rarely post. There have been a couple of attempts to set up colonies to restore the old spirit, but the grinding, corporation-funded behemoth just rolls right over them, even as it disintegrates itself.
Sometimes I wish it was 2008 again, but I had a crap job in those days so seeing my favourite corner of the internet wither away and die maybe isn't so bad after all.
But I'm still sad. | | | | | Maybe it's just as well.. after two babies, don't think my bladder could take all the laughing I did in 2008
I too miss some of the banter & wit back then, that's for sure.. but, even if it is quieter, hats off to the many new fun/ thoughtful poster knocking about now.
And, I must admit, I do love the odd walk-in annoying wind-everyone-up troll | The following 13 users would like to thank for this useful post: | |

| | Re: 9 months in Switzerland - a honest report. | Quote: | | | | | I come here and read interesting looking thread sand it is always the same people who respond.: Yourself, Richdog, Slemans (or whatever he is called), Dougal's Breakfast (I must say he is not that bad), PorschXXX, Treverus, Odile (she sounds like a dear old OAP actually) and the like. I am not going to waste time figuring out who is a bully and who is not. But there is enough bullying going around. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | When I joined there was a guy called Charlie R Soles and than that Lost_in_broad guy who had Denzel Washington as his Avatar (Maybe he still has it actually). So, yeah you might be right actually. It was not that good then either. I kind of liked you then DB. Your posts made much more sense and were funnier than others. But I must say, I have sensed some of the bitterness of the others seem to be rubbing on you. But, still you and your wife (Is she called MathNut?) sound like nice people. | | | | | I'm unpopular and not ubiquitous enough to be mentioned!

What the hell is wrong with this place? | | | | | Don't worry - I was also astounded to read this, especially as I haven't really posted since months (had an accident / started new job - old stories).
The poster only looks in to EF now and then.

Anybody know what Caitlin Thomas asked when she arrived at the hospital where Dylan was on his deathbed?
"Well, is the bloody man dead yet?"

A passionate and mellifluous people, the Welsh. | | | | | Thank you for providing a beginners introduction into the thought processes of your mind. It doesn't help me one jot, but there you are, and I will no doubt benefit from it once I've figured out what wise insights you're referring to .
For other members, they will of course know straight away - I appear to be the only dunce.

A friend got a great photo of two rainbows over it a few weeks ago. Found that to be very appropriate to a town with that name.
But back on de-railed topic - yes, wouldn't like to be Welsh when into S&M | | | | | Actually I think I can
Strange for a Dutch person but it is easier if you are already used to using strange sounding vowels :-)
