Excuse me, but who the **** are you to be telling Cannut what he should and shouldn't be doing?
Come on, this forum is full of people who tell people to go back to their country, leave if they do not like it, stop trolling, do this, do that and you take offence at this?

His wife is Irish (correct me if I'm wrong Paddy), and that kind of makes him OK too.
Well he does have a Irish connection after all.

Oh how right you are. I am indeed influenced by my own prejudices, predilictions, and preferences. As are you, and the OP and anyone else.

I could have believed that the OP was "telling the truth". I would hessitate to call him a liar, but as far as I can tell if there is such a thing as truth, then his approach to discovering it, and interpretation of it's implications, doesn't seem to be particularly effective. He isn't wrong, it's more a question of being wrong headed.

I don't preach about circularity, but I do point it out. As you, apparently, also do.

I wish I were more open minded. I take comfort in being less single minded than others.
Maybe OP chose to express his feelings in a very inappropriate way for the real life, but totally appropriate for EF.
I wouldn't be so sure he actually believes everything he wrote; plus at times he tries to play the role of some sort of stand-up comedian - read his latest long post. All in all - a very refreshing "troll". Hope he doesn't get banned - that would be so double-standard...after all, even lost_in_broad has made it to the top.

Aand we have a winner! Please take your assumptions and generalisations and shove them up your hole.

FYI I am neither Irish nor a "lovely person"; I'm actually a bit of a *unt, but I get by.
I still think Irish people are nice. Obviously you are not one of them! Or you are just trying to endear yourself to your bullying buddies.

Oh and yes, seeing you being thanked by the bullying lot was indeed my clue. Pots and kettles comes to mind. Or birds of a feather. Or, whatever.

We are all influenced by our prejudices, even you. And the OP may have been telling his truth, but as this is a discussion forum, to assume everyone will nod and smile and fall into line behind the accusations - and the angry hurt of it all - is a bit naive.

In my experience, some folk who profess to be open-minded can be anything but. I have a broad mind, but it has its limits.

Yes - for the same reason I'd ignore someone shouting at a bunch of teenagers on their lawn but would object to the same directed at someone's grandad.

It's how society works - in civilised cultures, at least. Some people enjoy more privileges than others by virtue of their seniority and earned respect.

I've no desire to see him banned either. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. It is a private set of facts that I object to, particularly when that private set of facts is used to develop an argument which moves along racist lines to protest against racism. If someone claims "All Swiss are X" you will probably find me questioning the claim, even if "X" happens to be "Swiss". The Swiss are as individual and homogenous as any other group of people. Sentences or propositions which begin with "All" generally tend to be tautologies.

I really couldn't give a flying f**k what you think; I don't have to "endear" myself to anyone. When I see a twat, I call out a twat, and you, my old mucker, are certainly deserving of that moniker.

Well I wouldn't ignore the person shouting at the teenagers either if I were sure they did nothing to deserve it. So your standards of a "civilized" culture are obviously different to mine. But how would I know? You are from a "civilized" culture but we are from "sh*t" countries.

I don't know what this is as I haven't spent the last 7-10 years replying to every post in a dark room with a box of tissue papers nearby. What is it? The architect or is it a plugin and I should see something? I just see an empty space.
