Re: 9 months in Switzerland - a honest report.

You're not the only one around here that has read the Classics of English literature, you know.

And as i said before, you seem to have no idea about how fora work. And the banter that goes on, good and bad. If i took umbrage to every nasty thing said to me on another Forum - i would have curled up and died years ago.

You give out shit, expect it right back at you. So, don't go complaining that people are bullies. Because they aren't.

Well I really couldn't believe anyone with an ounce of social grace would bring real people who are not even commenting here into a sarcastic remark. My bad.
Coming from you it's gold!

I have to say, I'm truly entertained by you! No sarcasm! Keep up the good work! It's very funny!

Hmm, did you say "mean girls"?

I must agree with another poster. This has turned into a cat fight after your entrance.
Oh, Kedi, I'm not a little girl. And I do believe the catfight comment was general. I've been on this thread from quite early on but I had to work to get your attention. Call it idle curiosity. Job done.

Now, if you'll excuse me for a bit I have to go and de-fluff the tumble dryer.

Actually, I'm pretty sure she's not a troll. Just a p***ed off user.

You also said economisto is still around and last time I checked he was treesarehalal or something - banned and not reincarnated....unless he's really, really bored.

I haven't. Classic English literature is boring. Too many long words.

It's not as boring as German literature, though.

Hesse was OK, but I've only read him in English, and my wife only in Italian.

He's buried next to my wife's parents.

I am glad we found at least one common interest and agree on one thing. I only read English literature as a hobby so I do not claim to be able to analyze Dickens' style let alone write like him.

Also, you need to be fair, it does not matter if I write "i.e" or not. This isn't exactly a creative writing platform but I see you are still slightly miffed at my (not a little childish) comments about your spelling abilities.
On the contrary. I suspect that we two are doing vastly different things when we read. I can't be sure, fortunately I've never been subjected to being you.

First you claim that reading Dickens has somehow improved you, or makes you better, and now you distance yourself as it is only a hobby and you don't claim to be able to immitate him.

Perhaps we use the term "hobby" differently. For me, a hobby is a recreation. "Only" and "hobby" aren't stored on the same shelf in my vocabulary.

I don't need to be fair to please you, but were I you I wouldn't keep trying to get under my skin. I suspect you won't like it much, but people learn in different ways.

Correct my spelling, or grammar, please. I am more than aware that I am not at the level I used to be at, so I am grateful of the feedback.

You are reading too much into my words. I said "hobby" out of humility because I assumed you might be more well-read than me. But it is obvious you are so annoyed you take everything the wrong way.

A Billy Joel lyric just snuck into my head as I almost wrote "You may be right". *shudder*

This much is quite clear.

The number of completely innocent people you've dragged into this bizarre ongoing shitfest is evidence of some kind of existential disquiet which has little or nothing to do with the actual theme of the thread.

I've been enjoying myself - and so, it seems, have most of your "victims" - but you surely can't be happy fighting the whole world with your floppy sword.

Tomorrow's Wednesday. Why don't you take the afternoon off and go for a walk in the country?

A Russian and a Turk?

That would be lovely. Like Romeo and Juliet or something.

Well you seem to assume that everyone coming here to ask a question is an expert in what goes on in "fora". Obviously the OP came here knowing he would be pounced upon within 5 seconds as did I. But many people come here because they are distressed and need to find a solution to their problem. You cannot expect all of them to "suck it". People are so scared these days, they feel the need to say "I researched the forum and found out this and this, but not this" because they know they are treading on eggshells.

But I do not know why I bother trying to make my point. You and others like you seem to regard this sort of behaviour as the norm.

Most Kedi (cat in Turkish) like to pretend they are big lions but spray a bit of water on them and they run for their lives..
Not sure neutered cats can still spray, maybe Kedi could tell us all what a wonderful sprayer he is.
