9 months in Switzerland - a honest report.

Hi guys. I'm a russian who moved to Switzerland 9 months ago. Here is my my honest opinion about Switzerland:

- swiss don't like foreigners. This was reported with such a consistence that I'd call it a rule.
- swiss are extremely superficial
- swiss don't like me
- swiss are super snobby
- swiss are extremely narrow minded
- swiss are very judgemental
- swiss are rude
- swiss are ignorant
- swiss are so boring in average. I haven't met so boring people in my life. No sense of humor, no vibe, no character, complete zombies.

- I feel very not welcomed here
- for all the time I'm in CH I've made 0 swiss friends. I've been in many EU countries and in each one I've made at least one local friend, but unfortunately not in Switzerland.
- some swiss guy openly told me that swiss don't like foreigners. He even told me that swiss hate each other. He personally hates zurichers the most.
- when I came to CH I stayed at some swiss girl. She told me, that swiss people are very rude in general. Her BF didn't speak a word with me for a whole time.
- I also met argentinian girl told me that she has 0 swiss friends, while being for 3 years in CH. Then some guy told me he lives in CH for 30 years and none of his swiss neighbours invited him to their homes, but he hosted all of them.

- party life is utterly bad. In Zurich you have the long street - which is more like a nest of crime, rather than a center for party - and there is sth in Geneva, but haven't been there. That's it.

- swiss don't know how to party. Most of so-called parties are funerals with rubbish music.

- switzerland is so lifeless place. Towns don't have any vibe. There is no life. Just posh, clean stuff and money. Dead inside dead outside.

- when I use public transport, it's a daily routine that swiss stare in me like I came from Mars. Is it that bad to see a russian looking russian?

- For few times I've had very bad experience with cashiers - they either didn't want to speak a word with me, I've been thrown a bill at me like I'm a dog, but they often eye-roll.

- swiss people don't know how to stand in a line or they just purposely skip auslanders. I've get skipped in a line in a daily basis.

- I think that I get skipped even in restaurants. I often wait suspiciously long and many times they've served guest who came after me.

- I almost always have free seats when using public transport. If they get occupied, it's due to foreigners.

- swiss CAN SMELL a foreigner. I'm serious.

- if i try to speak with a swiss, conversations don't get over 1-2 mins long. Then he moves away, while giving me that semi-stare/creepy look.

- swiss women are extremely arrogant

- swiss are racists. I've noticed and heard this one so many times, that it hurts. Here I see black people with black people, and not mixed. Black people are always sitting alone in trains/busses. The exception to all of this are black women.

- switzerland simply doesn't feel European. It's a very bizarre place and has nothing in common with other EU countries. I can't imagine these guys ever joining EU.

- swiss food feels so plastic.

- swiss life is so slow. Switzerland is slow.

- swiss use a word 'auslander' a lot

- swiss women eye-roll to me a lot

- money that is earned in switzerland isn't very remarkable to spend in switzerland. Everything is so damn expensive that if you want to have the same life style as in comparable country, you many end with the same amount or no savings, especially if you have a family. Restaurants are extremely expensive. Meat prices are crazy. Dentist prices are crazy. Partying in clubs is expensive. Having a lively life stile while trying to make some decent savings, a 6000CHF brutto is not enough.

- swiss employers don't appreciate my work. They see me as necessary evil, because I can do stuff few time better than theywould and for half lower price. They don't like me as a person.

- if one speaks german and is nice/polite/doesn't act like having a metal rod in his/her ass, he or she is a german. This is a rule for me.

-swiss see germans as farmers or sth with lower grade.

-it's worthless to learn swiss german. Everybody said to me not to waste time for that. Firstly I don't have any swiss friends so I'd be able to use it and secondly some swiss told me that swiss german is only for swiss.

- swiss romande are not better swiss. They're just less horrible. Swiss is swiss, sorry.

Upper points are mostly negative, but there also positives:
+ swiss know how to drive. When I'm crossing the road, most of time these guys start braking like 40m before zebra. I can rarely see crazy people on the road, but if it happens, it probably an auslander.
+ switzerland is safe. I can sleep on the street and I don't have to worry that somebody would rob me of a liver.
+switzerland has a potential to make nice savings with a compromise that you lower expenses.
+ lots of money, if you're in management, pharma or banking
+ switzerland has a trustful employment sistem. I think you don't have to worry that your employer would screw you up with not paying you or firing you just of nowhere.
+ switzerland is a great place to build your career and become more competitive on the market. Achieve this and then get the hell out.
+switzerland might be a good place socially, if you look central-european. Look attractive or look like one of them and you should be fine.

This is it for now. Will update the list.

If you take a number 10 tram out to the airport, Aeroflot flight SU2393 is on schedule for a 22:35 departure back to Sheremetyevo.

Enjoy the flight bud

I think the opening post says a lot more about the author than it does about Swiss people.

This must be a troll. Stopping for pedestrians at a zebra crossing? Really? Admit it... you've never even been to Zürich.

Why don't you go home ?

You're not so important, you only earn Chf 6k month brutto, so obviously you're not "top of the tree" material
