| | New interface for SBB touchscreen ticket machines
Anyone else annoyed at the new interface for the SBB ticket machines? They used to be simple, fast and reliable.
Now I'm faced with a bewildering start menu, and a whole wave of screens just to buy a ticket to town. Not only that, it's slower, such that I'm pounding the screen like an angry monkey trying to get the thing to work. They've crashed on me a couple of times too (not due to me hitting it repeatedly).

Yeah me. To get a one day zone 10 card takes more keypresses and is not where you would expect to find it, under City Tickets, and is slower. The screen is busier, more cluttered and less easy to use. I would like to know what the objectives were for the redesign.

Yes, the new version is terrible. Amongst various day and single tickets, I usually buy the 6x punch in day cards, in multiples. The new version removed the ability purchase in multiples (both EN and DE versions). Though this has been fixed, after many months. Still horrible to navigate around. There are times I've just given up and walked away in disgust!
My wife is Swiss and she has the same problems with it that others have discussed. So its not just the English interface but the German as well.

On a positive note, there are more options such as paying with credit care or EC card. It also takes 10er note. The old machine only took coins and 20er notes.

True.
I was refering to the new ZVV machines. They are a lot better than the older ones.

Hi,
Also the UBS Multimats used to be a lot easier to user. Now the interface is confusing and the terminology is strange. I get the english interface, though I would prefer the German version as it would be a lot easier to comprehend. I am not sure what free translation package they used to generate the different lanaguage versions but it is more difficult than it used to be.
Have fun

I was really confused the last time I tried to make a withdrawal. "Subprime Error : All money dispensed."

You are not alone. I much prefer the previous uncluttered version of these interfaces. Just because you can stick groovey pictures and funky looking buttons doesn't mean you should.
It puts at least 2 minutes on my time every time I need to get a ticket I don't normally purchase.
KISS. Keep it simple stupid.

had to use one for the first time yesterday, yes, glitzier but my god, how tricky and needlessly so was it?
You would think they would have improved the software instead needless expense in replacing old tech with less capable new, no multiple tickets (WTF!).
Useless tossers. Looks like Credit Suisse isnt the worst company in town after all..

I used to be able to tap in the sequence to get my "zone extension" ticket blindfolded. But last week I was befuddled by a new menu layout, spent a full minute trying to find what I wanted, much to the chagrin of the people behind me.
If it ain't broke, don't bloody fix it!
