It is Friday...and it is really warm.

stuart1956 - thanks for the confession but it is quite...bewildering. And not just the lack of punctuation.

Re: america first

The poor suffer anyway and you knew he was going to do it so why are you so surprised? Isn't the first of his "campaign promises" to actually happen? Everything else is either bogged down in a court or in Congress.

Re: america first

This idiocy may show what Trump thinks of the rest of the world... but please do not extrapolate that outlook to the whole of the nation. Remember that the majority of voters did not vote for Trump.

A ray of hope : the Climate Mayors, that is, a group of concerned mayors of 61 US cities, signed an open letter promising to honor the Paris Climate Agreement:

https://medium.com/@ClimateMayors/cl...s-ba566e260097

"We will continue to lead. We are increasing investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. We will buy and create more demand for electric cars and trucks. We will increase our efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, create a clean energy economy, and stand for environmental justice. And if the President wants to break the promises made to our allies enshrined in the historic Paris Agreement, we’ll build and strengthen relationships around the world to protect the planet from devastating climate risks.

The world cannot wait — and neither will we.

The list includes the mayors of a cross section of US cities, including many of our largest.

---

As an aside, gotta love Rahm Emanuel, the mayor of my old stomping ground Chicago. When the EPA scrubbed it's climate change pages in response to Pruitt's agenda, Chicago put the archived EPA data up on the city website. From Emanuel: “Here in Chicago we know climate change is real and we will continue to take action to fight it.”

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/0...ge-page-238067

---

ETA:

It gets even better: According to this NYT article, in spite of Trump's withdrawl, representatives of cities, states and companies are preparing to submit a plan to the United Nations pledging to meet the United States’ greenhouse gas emissions targets under the Paris climate accord:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/01/c...=top-news&_r=0

---

Grass roots, people. Change starts at the grass roots. And please - vote in the midterms!

Along these lines a great video by someone who trumps Trump in most matters which matter (no, Apprentice ratings don´t)

Nope, it only happens after the next election, so he will have to get reelected in four years time before he can actually implement it. And given that coal only added 400 jobs last month.......

The Chinese are offering to retrain American coal miners in wind energy tech. Best trolling ever?

One just has to realize that the world ain't normal anymore when the Chinese are more environmentally conscious then the States.
