Email hacked

Hello,
Someone has paid a hacker to look into my emails. This person who lives in Switzerland has made a photo of my private emails, which is hacked and has sent me the image. How can I pursue this case in Switzerland legally?

Thank you in advance for your help and reply.

By going to the police and making a report as in any other country? The law would be Art. 143bis Abs. 1 StGB

Re: Email hacked

And change your passwords, especially if you use the same one elsewhere

Also, check your email address(es) here:

My co-worker got hold of the whole cache (the 1.4 billion mentioned above). It's about 50G uncompressed.
1.4 billion accounts with their clear-text passwords.

It's insane. The amount of silly passwords, the password-reuse.

Though, a lot of the accounts are probably very, very old. I know this because there are some linked to email-addresses from my employer for people who I have never met - and I've worked here for over a decade...

This person is not a Swiss national. He leaves on a B permit and works in a company. The hacker has given him a free sample and asked for money for the rest. I have to report to Police. He is not trustable to live in Switzerland.

Re: Email hacked

I'm sure there's a version for windows..
But for me on MAC, i love the "Suggest password" and keychain in MAC/IOS.. Every new site or service which requires a password, I let the OS choose a password for me and it's in the style t5Y-hG9-4rF-dE3 .. So i have a decent strong password for each service, no re-use, heck i don't even know them.

I suppose the downsides are two.. The passwords are all together in the keychain so that's a potential weak link.. If I have none of my apple devices available I don't know my passwords..

However I also have 2FA enabled for anything vaguely important so I could still reset if needed.

Just what I do .. Your method may well be better for you..
