True, I am annoyed today, but are you suggesting customers should expect less? Do you work for them?
O.k. to be short:

A customer should expect what is agreed upon which is exactly what you are getting. You expect more and are annoyed that you do not get what you want even tho you are in no way entitled to it.

You are angry at them since they stick to the deal and you had false expectations. Better be angry at yourself.

Digitec offer D.O.A. insurance as an optional extra. Never bothered with it myself, but I guess it might protect you if you need a working item ASAP.

Afaik Digitec DOA is free. Least I've seen it included with all products, only warranty extension is extra.


Looking through INTERDISCOUNT.CH, I can't seem to find any Dead on Arrival service, only against transport damage, which you have to buy "for a small amount".

Thanks for the heads up OP, not gonna touch interdiscount with anything than a few meter long pole.

OP can't be having that much laundry waiting to be ironed like she said in the OP, and there is no rush to it. I get groaned at for offering her to borrow our ironer since we hardly use it at the moment and we only live a few KM apart.

Interdiscount provided us with the worst customer experience we have ever experienced in Switzerland, we refuse to shop there. We bought an air purifier there that within two days smelled strongly of wet socks and mold, they refused to take it back and worst off, they were incredibly rude and treated us as if we were lying. They sent it away for useless "checks", we didn't even bother to pick the thing back up. I have had nothing but positive experiences at Media Markt...maybe just out of luck, but I would go there to buy any appliance/electronic/household goods.

Just to add to the Interdiscount woe stories. Back in May I ordered a milk frother from their website as it was showing in stock. A few days later I receive an email to say that delivery will be delayed 2 weeks because its now out of stock.

Fair enough, I found it elsewhere and bought it from them. I try to cancel with Interdiscount but there is no way in my customer portal. So I write an email to customer services. 2 weeks later I receive another email to say its now going to be a further two weeks. Again I write an email asking them to cancel and I do the same using their online communication tool so I have an incident number.

This happens a further time where delivery is again pushed out. I tried to call this time and the person I spoke to would not help me out by speaking high German (let alone English) and my Swiss German is not up to par so I had to hang up and again tried to write to them (in German + English).

To cut a long story short the item was delivered 2 months after I placed the order. So I printed out all my emails and marched to an Interdiscount store extremely pissed off. Initially they tried to say that they couldn't deal with online orders, but sensing my anger the nice lady relented and said she would sort it out for me.

Interdiscount and Microspot have been by far the worst companies I have dealt with, you get what you pay for so lessons learnt.

I know it's a little different from the original post, but i need you help.


Interdiscount claims they have a 2 years guarantee. But every time i try to call them and go through the process is a dead end. No one ever answers the phone.


Has anyone been in the same position?

Could be that the number's wrong, or changed. Try going to a physical shop and seeing a real person.

Just a note -



Interdiscount, Microspot, Siroop are all run out of the same office.


Fust are also owned by Coop, like all of the above.


Know someone who works at ID office - no one likes what their company does to customers.
